So we are now at about 88 days - they received our RFE packet today.

I'm hoping that a) they acknowledge the RFE packet soon and that b) our clock is not reset for another 90 days, primarily because my husband got to the 2nd round of interviews for a great job. It sucks having to pay university tuition on one income and for his not being able to drive since we live in suburbia.

I still cant believe it took them 60 days to get an RFIE to us - what a waste of time!

Lol. My EAD was mailed to me yesterday so for me the biggest wait is over. I can work and travel and have a normal life, this makes me less impatience for the GC interview hehe

Your timeline doesn't appear on your messages. Did you expedite your EAD or did that come in natural time?

That's cool, hopefully you get the response sooner rather than later. I raised an SR a few days ago and got a "we'll respond by August 22" statement 😒.

I move in 2 weeks. Do you know if this change of address "restarts" the date? I heard an RFE does so I'm already upset lol

I this it might some how affect you case because I tried to place a service request for my EAD/AP on day # 85 but sadly it was not,and the reason is "case within processing time"

But you are required to report your change of address ..

I was able to open a joint bank account with PNC Bank when I was visiting in October 2016. I presented my UK Passport and Uk Drivers' license as my ID. No issues. Obviously I didn't have my SSN at that point either (although I got that pretty quickly once I arrived in January). Which bank have you been trying? PNC was easy peasy!

Unfortunately my Venezuelan passport is expired. With all the issues happening in Venezuela right now i doubt I will be issued one anytime soon (Requested renewal of passport at the beginning of the year) My husband and I went to a couple of banks in our city and they all refused to let us open a joint bank account.

That is so nice... just think about the light at the end of the tunnel! once you're done with the interview you'll be heading off to the end of this very long process!

I don't have any advice on your case but I 100% sympathize with your husband's situation right now (not being able to drive and eager to start working)

All done... Interview went very smoothly... IO came out and called my name, he was not smiling but professional and polite, took us into his office and swore us in... then he went through our full names and date of births and address... then he went through the questions on my i-485... then he asked my wife where we had met and around what date... then he asked if it was both of our first marriage and we said yes, then he asked if either one of us had kids and we said no then he asked who are the kids in those photos and i was pleasantly surprised that he had actually personally looked through the pictures and i said those where her niece and nephew... then he asked if we had any extra evidence we want to submit and i gave him our wedding album and my sealed medical form... he said we did a background check and everything looks great that your marriage is bonafide and your green card is approved!!! he then went to get some copies of some of the pics from the wedding album (we had already submitted close to 38 pics with the application) and then he said you will get the card within two weeks and explained ROC and naturalization... then he asked us if we had any questions and we said no and he lead us out... hurraay!!! i hated that we were all tensed up as  the interview appointment letter had mentioned a long list of things to bring to the interview and we hadn't gotten an employment letter from her boss and didn't have the most recent pay stubs but he didn't even ask about them... so i guess this process is finally over for now... thanks to every single one of you who has read my posts and answered my questions and been a part of my journey, you guys made it easier for me... thank you...

P.S. I'm kind of worried that i haven't gotten an update on my status online yet, interview was at 1:30 PM and now its 12 30 in thew morning and no update yet... I am gonna post this same comment on the March, April and May 2017 topics as there are people on each who have supported me through this process...

just your typical immigrant LOL!!!

I have an update. . .

So according to the day I sent the package in is 99 and the day they say they accepted it is 93 either way I'm over 90. I haven't had any update on my case since May 3rd besides the "ready to be scheduled for interview"

so for the combo card I called on package sent day 83 (the usisc rep agreed it was 83 days so I ran with it) I did a service request. I didn't feel like anything was going to happen from that. .  . Got the generic email saying wait until August 11.

then I called back on day 90 and requested to expedite. . .

Then I called the ombudsman office, they replied quickly but said they couldn't help it was out of their jurisdiction. (But I've read they can help)

then i called the congressman Culberson (we are based in houston) and they were all over the place, not responding sending me to voicemail, then I had to crazy on them via email and finally got back an hour after the email from multiple people.  they expedieted our case and I just received an email this morning asking for an fax.  .   So it's progress. . .

I don't know how to just wait. . . It's driving me insane .  .  . My husband needs to work NOW!!  Im used to shopping and I can't shop cause we have to economize cause all my purse, shoes and brunch with my girls  money is going to groceries 🙄

You sound like me lmao. I was so mad about potentially not working because as I told my husband I wasn't trying to sit at home with broken nails and flip flops. Now I got the EAD so my hair and nails are pretty fleeky, but I want residence so I can consolidate my student loans and have a little extra every month to save up and buy a new house so I can watch tv in my bathtub lol

It will happen, girl. All with time. Hopefully the SR will work since the 90 day mark has passed but it will happen soon for all May filers - I'm sure of it.

Hi please did you get a combo card when you expedited or just the EAD? Also would you say the congressman was helpful in the process? I sent a request and faxed evidence to have my Ap expedited as my father is terminally ill. I'm hoping they approve and send a combo so I can at least work and travel to see him. Also did you place a call to the congressman or what it an email on their website please let me know. Thanks
