At this point, though, where would our cases be? I've been checking the California Service Center, but perhaps I was told incorrectly. My nearest field office is Chicago...is that the processing time I should be checkin for i-765 stuff?

I have been reading this thread for a long time now and got a positive update first time in a while. An interview is scheduled for I-485. We had an RFIE(Initial) for my Turkish birth certificate. Now we are waiting on the EAD/AP. Good luck everyone!

Congratulations! We are at "Interview is ready to be scheduled." How long did it take yours to be updated from that step?

Ours didn't change to "Interview is ready to be scheduled.", it directly changed to "Interview is scheduled.". So unfortunately I don't have your answer.

It is MSC(Missouri Service Center).

I'm not sure if our case has been transferred to the Hartford office yet, but I know that cases go there eventually because I-485 is listed under the types of cases they handle.

I just hope the processing times aren't too bad!

Just moments ago we were updated to "Ready to Be Scheduled for an Interview"!!!
We had our congressman inquire about the work permit, but got updates on the green card... I dunno why that is, but either way, We're excited!!!!! I was very concerned we would receive a second RFE for his heath records since we didn't send in that form or vaccinations at ALL (they kept all his documents at POE and we have NONE). I suppose they can still ask for these then, but at least we aren't stuck any longer!

you should be checking the field office that corresponds to the first 3 letters in your receipt number. We live in Virginia and our's are MSC which is the missouri service center and thats where it has remained. You are notified if you are transfered to a different service center.

Evening!

Congrats to everyone getting their EAD/APs and interviews scheduled. Just reading through it seems that people with RFEs have had more luck getting the interviews and cards?

I was just curious- we have a trip planned back to the UK (where my husband is from) on August 25th... he planned to stay for a few weeks and we were thinking that if the EAD/AP card hadn't arrived in the mail before we left, I could mail it to him and he would have it when he came home at the end of September. Is this allowed? Does he need the card to leave? Or will him leaving trigger something in the system and they will assume he has abandoned his AOS?

Also- I tried to submit an inquiry as it has been 79 days with no change in our status but it wouldn't let me as we were "within normal processing times". I'm confused since other people with similar timelines successfully submitted an inquiry?

Thanks for your help!

Has AP been approved and just waiting for the card to arrive in the mail? If AP not approved, I suggest doing some further research, my understanding is that if he left the country while AOS is pending without AP approved, the AOS petition is forfeited

No it has not been approved yet, the estimate from VJ is mid August.

Makes sense though, I will keep researching. Thank you!

I'm officially pissed! I don't know why USCIS can be so incompetent. So, I put in my I-131 application as an asylee applying for a refugee travel document, but they approved and sent me an advance parole instead!! That would be useless for me, since I don't have and can't apply for a national passport from the country where I claimed a persecution. And I can't travel with an advance parole alone. What should I do? >_< I need to travel in early October.

Are you allowed to travel back to the country where you claimed fear of persecution with just a travel document? Don't you think that's too risky? I mean from my own understanding and what I have learnt as per asylees going back to their country you have to have proof of citizenship or so if not there may be terrible consequences..... Anyways, I'm sure there'll definitely be a solution if they did send you a wrong document, why don't you call them or something, and they should be able to fix that and send you the proper one, sorry about that and best of luck dear friend....

Oh no. I'm not going back to my country. I'm going to Japan. In order to travel with AP, I need a valid passport. I don't have one and can't apply for a passport from my country. That's why the USCIS issued me a refugee travel document to be able to travel before. Now it has expired, so I applied for a new one along with my I-485. But they sent me an AP instead.
