No updates, so many "fake" text over the weekend I guess due to the website maintenance. Called USCIS and escalated yesterday to ask about the EAD Expedite, and just were told to wait another week as it takes up to 2 weeks for yes/no after we faxed in the docs. Followed up with congress man and was told to wait a bit longer.

Still on ready to schedule interview... Just want an EAD so we can start that part and working on credit score and income for the wife.

Hello all, I believe the USCIS case status check is working again as of now.

I too am a May filer for AOS. I see that people who got their EAD expedited already got them! I am so happy for all of you!

I'm waiting for mine to come (not expedited) and it just feels like forever. I can see the financial burden of maintaining both of us on my husband's shoulders now that his old car broke down... I feel so useless staying home and not being able to share the financial burden with him.

I was wondering if I should start applying for jobs now (Aiming for Software Engineering/Developer) and I think the whole interviewing process would take a month on average... I've been holding back on sending out my resumes with fear of not knowing what to do or say if they needed me to start a job right away. Should I starting applying to jobs now? I still do not know how much more we have to wait for our EAD but I checked the USCIS website and apparently for the National Benefits Center (NBC) in Missouri, which is where I received my notices from, it states that they're just working on cases from January 17th, 2017... I do not know if I can stay another 4 months for my EAD  I just feel so useless at home and feel bad for my husband.

I feel for you! Things would be a thousand times better for us financially if my husband could work too :( He's been starting to look for jobs but I'm anxious to have him full-on job hunt as I'm unsure how much longer we'll be waiting. I feel so bad for him being at home all day and unable to drive (they won't give him a license with an expired I-94 and no EAD) :( This wait is just as tough as K1 wait but in a different way!

Just got back from traveling on my AP. I still got taken into the back room but I didn't even have to speak to an officer. They took my passport and EAD/AP card and told me I was good to go. I later checked my passport and there was a "paroled"stamp. Whole thing took about 5-10 minutes.

Became a citizen 6/2024. Now filing for my mother.

What kinds of evidence specifically have you guys been submitting for your expedited EAD/APS? Proof of financial hardship? A job offer letter with an expiration? I'm on a leave of absence from my job with my employer in Canada who will let me be setup as a remote employee once my EAD is approved. I have a letter from them making my LOA official stating I can come back when I have work authorization on/around September 2017. My wife and I are very lucky to be okay financially at the moment, so it may not be true to say there is financial hardship at the moment. I'd just like to be able to get back to work.

Applying for an expedite on the basis of financial hardship is not the best idea when half your documentation was to prove that your wife's income is enough for the both of you to live properly here but you could try severe financial loss due to the loss of the job offer as a reason to expedite... just my opinion, you should look into it more though... good luck...

Is an expedite usually granted if one gets a job offer?

Husband got an interview - don't want to jump the gun but if he were to find something before he gets the EAD do you think they'd expedite the EAD for us so that he can take the offer?

I risked being placed on leave until my EAD was approved too. My husband is way above the poverty line but I earn more money than he does. for that reason, I disagree that requesting an expedite based on financial loss is a bad idea.

Re-read the criteria, memory serves that it is severe financial loss to individual or company and nothing to do with hardship.  A job offer with start date and compensation is all that has been needed for most including myself.  Don't get hung up on poverty or income levels, my experience has revealed that USCIS is willing to move quickly when the intended immigrant has an opportunity to support his/herself.

Howdy everyone I would like to share some information on my SR done today 75 days since PD 04/28/2017. So I put in a SR for my EAD today online on USCIS website and got this message below:

"As of July 12, 2017, your inquiry about the status of your Employment Authorization application, referral number SR11******************, is currently not assigned for processing."

Has anyone here experience anything like this? Please share your experiences.
