Anyone ever get a text stating there was an update but no update? Only thing I can imagine - is the text is referring to the update that happened on 6/29.... OR theres gonna be another update tomorrow and this is a pre-update?

Well the case status website https://egov.uscis.gov is currently down it appears, maybe that's what's going on?  What did the text update say?

Just that theres been an update to the MSC which got updated on 6/29 has been updated - we hoped it was due to the EAD expedite but nothing updated with that..  maybe it didnt update cause of the site down or maybe it just sent cause of the site? It was about 2 hours ago when I got it... Guess wont dwell on it to much.

Hello all, I believe the USCIS case status check is working again as of now.

I too am a May filer for AOS. I see that people who got their EAD expedited already got them! I am so happy for all of you!

I'm waiting for mine to come (not expedited) and it just feels like forever. I can see the financial burden of maintaining both of us on my husband's shoulders now that his old car broke down... I feel so useless staying home and not being able to share the financial burden with him.

I was wondering if I should start applying for jobs now (Aiming for Software Engineering/Developer) and I think the whole interviewing process would take a month on average... I've been holding back on sending out my resumes with fear of not knowing what to do or say if they needed me to start a job right away. Should I starting applying to jobs now? I still do not know how much more we have to wait for our EAD but I checked the USCIS website and apparently for the National Benefits Center (NBC) in Missouri, which is where I received my notices from, it states that they're just working on cases from January 17th, 2017... I do not know if I can stay another 4 months for my EAD  I just feel so useless at home and feel bad for my husband.

--------- AOS ---------

2017-05-09     Submitted I-130 / I-485 / I-765

2017-05-17     NOA Received all 3 from NBC (or MSC.)

2017-05-31     RFE Received for birth certificate (even though we sent it) Sent back 2 days later.

2017-06-05     Biometrics appointment done.

2017-08-14     90 days since application received. Case updated to "New Card in Production"!!

2017-08-21     Card received in the mail!

Start applying now, if the company is worth working for they'll be accommodating, with a written job offer in hand you'll be able to request expedite if you haven't received your EAD by then. Hang in there, normalcy is coming!

@Mimzy - what's going on with your EAD?  You mentioned you were a May 2017 filer, but also said they had your case since January 17th, 2017 and didn't want to wait another 4 months for EAD.  Did they get your EAD application separately and earlier than AOS?

It helps all of us to fill out a timeline by the way, and we can better help you that way too because we can get a better picture of what your situation is.

If you've been waiting since January 17 for EAD, have you done biometrics yet?  EAD shouldn't take 7 months, if you've been waiting that long and you've done your biometrics, it's certainly time to get on the phone with USCIS and find out what's going on with your application.  Same applies if you've been waiting that long and haven't done biometrics yet too.

Hi everyone,

USCIS received our paperwork on 5/5/2017, NOA on 5/8/2017. Filed EAD, AP, and AOS all at the same time. Got biometrics appointment done on 5/30/2017. All through the NBC or Cincinnati office.

My question is this: Why is the Cincinnati office seemingly so much slower than the other offices? It seems like almost everyone here already has their EAD/AP complete and some even with their AOS ready for interview. We have nothing. I called the NCSC and was told that they are backlogged and I could expect to see my application looked at within a YEAR?!!? Is this normal? What do I do? What can I do? Please help.

My PD is 05/04/17 and I've heard nothing since my biometrics appointment which was June 1st. I think those with May PD's who've received combo cards had expedited their applications.  Don't worry, we're still very much within normal processing times.

How does one go about requesting an expedited application?

Adjustment of Status:

5/03/2017:  I-485, I-131, and I-765 packets mailed to Chicago lockbox

5/08/2017:  USPS delivers I-485, I-131, and I-765 packets to Chicago lockbox

5/10/2017:  Check cashed by USCIS

5/12/2017:  Received NOA1's for all three

5/12/2017:  Biometrics appointment letter received with an appointment date of 5/30/2017

5/30/2017:  Biometrics completed (Cincinnati Field Office)

7/26/2017:  USCIS reports I-485 ready to be Scheduled for Interview

8/02/2017:  USCIS scheduled interview for 9/7/2017

8/27/2017:  EAD/AP combo card approved

8/31/2017:  Received EAP/AP combo card

9/06/2017:  Applied for SSN

9/07/2017:  AOS Interview - APPROVED!

We have just about that same timeline with our case received May 5th and we did biometrics by appointment May 30th. But by end of June we got an rfe that we sent back within 4 days and now back to waiting. I think its probably a good thing if you haven't heard anything yet. Our case was not expedited or anything either. But it WAS hard seeing others who filed when we did getting interviews scheduled while we got an rfe... But we are all still in the normal timeframe, change can happen any day!

I sent in a request to expedite my EAD along with my application packet. You can call USCIS and put in a service request using your I-765 NOA receipt number. Some people say you have to wait a certain number of days before they allow you to expedite, but it's worth the try. The guy on the phone just sent in the service request with no problems. I also had my USC spouse reach out to the congressman for their help too.  I emailed the ombudsman but they replied and told me because the application is within its processing time (90-120 days), they cannot help.

You move super fast. impressive, i am going to follow your thread to get an update. I am a may filler from Atlanta GA, also relocating from the UK. Did biometrics on 8th June and i haven't received nothing since then, my online status is still stuck on Fingerprint fee received also.

@didiblue, same timeline, same issue. No biometrics yet. 2 SR so far. Very disheartening. What responses did you get for your 2 SR?
