Ok so we got our walk in bio done! Took 10 minutes, thankfully the security guard remembered and let us go in. Guess it paid to be nice yesterday....

So waiting to tell the other employers about this, I guess we should try and expedite or would everyone recommend waiting on either an actual job offer(Assuming they ask for this upfront before even beginning the expedite process) or the RFE to see what it is for? Our actual Bio appointment wasnt for 2 more weeks so a bit ahead of the curve.

An actual job offer appears to be the most accepted evidence if you plan to request expediting based on severe financial loss.  I'd hold off until you have a job offer.

They won't process your expedite request until you respond to the RFE so you will have to wait for it anyway.

Gotcha -

Wasn't sure if the RFE was related, like if it some was something else(Related to a previous divorce decree, or something not EAD related...) will just wait, imagine won't have a real job offer letter for about 2-3 weeks anyway.

Is overnight mail the best way to reply or on the RFE do they tell you you can fax it, or always just mail it back?

Also, you guys doing expedites for EAD just calling USCIS or something else? through senator?

Yeah, my RFE was for my I-130 but they still suspended review of my EAD. I called and asked why and they said that if an RFE for any portion of my application is issued, they suspend review of the ENTIRE application.

I overnighted my response to RFE. There was no fax option. You can choose how you want to mail it. I overnighted it because I wanted them to resume processing my expedite ASAP. It took them about 4 days from receipt to acknowledge that they had received my response so bear that in mind too.

Also, I put in my request to expedite by calling USCIS. I also got my congressman involved. I reached out to my senator too. It depends on how bad you want it, in my opinion. And I want it BAD!!!!!

I called USCIS on the 12th to request expedite, I had contacted my local congressman's office a week ago requesting they do a status check.  My online status updated that same day informing that my expedite request had been transferred and evaluated and that same day received the results of my congressman's status check the same day.  I expect to have a letter in my hands by the end of the week as to whether my EAD will be expedited or not.  In my case I had a job offer 2 months ago when I submitted my marriage to USC AOS and EAD so there is a job offer letter already with my application.  I hope its enough!

UPDATE: So I called USCIS and my expedite for my EAD was approved! Yay! This only means my application has been bumped up to the front of the queue. So now an officer should review it within the next 1-3 weeks and either approve or deny it. Fingers crossed for this next step of the process!

I am currently employed so risk being terminated from employment without immediate renewal. I use myself and my husband for the affidavit of support but I am the primary breadwinner and without my salary, things would be a lot more difficult. I don't think it should be a problem because my husband's salary alone is above the poverty line. But beyond actually living (and as I explained in my request to expedite) I also have student loan payments from law school, and my health insurance is tied to my job for which I've already met the annual deductible (and will have to start all over again when I am re-employed). We'll see what happens. If they reject my affidavit of support on this ground, then we will use my mother-in-law as joint sponsor. I'll keep you updated. I hope to get a response soon.

Hi, I am in the same situation as you. I am a March filler though on 77th day, but I am going to start getting info together to expedite EAD otherwise I will be terminated from my job. Can you give more details on what evidence you sent? Thank you!
