AOS for spouse and unmarride child (4 yrs) from a visitor visa

AOS received  on May 9

NOA date May 17

Bio. Fees received on May 15

Bio. Appt. June 8 - Walkin  May 30

NO CHANGE & NO UPDATE since May 30

Guys any updates in your applications process & do you have any idea what is beeing cooked in my case or similar cases?

i don't think there's any update to be expected at this time, people don't get updates for having had their biometrics done. I'm sure all of us here are may filers and most of us have had our bio done and no update till now, we are all patiently waiting for updates concerning our EADs and APs.

If you filed for your I-765 and I-131 alongside your application, I think thats the update you should be expecting and I will suggest you check the USCIS website for processing times or you can look for the information here in this forum....

If this is the case amd USCIS is understaffed I think this might increase the interview waiver cases and the delays in general

Update: I finally have an officer looking at my evidence requested for why expedite for EAD is necessary. My update now says:

"As of June 13, 2017, your request to have your case expedited, referral number XXX, is on hold while we request your case file". I dislike the term "on hold" and I am hoping that looking at my case file won't prompt another RFE but fingers crossed I get an update within the next 2 days. I don't want to lose my job :(

I think you rushed into expediting especially as you have multiple RFE. Also, I haven't seen anyone getting EAD in 30 days from PD. However, if they deny your request, contact your congressman "The Democratic One", and they will probably help you get it.

I only had one RFE for my I-130A and USCIS already received and accepted it. Also, my congressman is already talking to USCIS about expedite. Thanks.

Embell thabks for your guidance. I still plan to visit other dmv offices in this week. Yeah my internation license is valid but i can get insurance on it just on rent a car not on my wife car

Another member was recently successful in getting a renewal with just the NOA1. She said she went to the DMV in San Diego, Clairemont. Best of luck.

When they ask for a proof of financial loss like a job offer what type of jobs they may accept office based jobs or just a job ? Any ideas?

Hello, I have question for u guys I would really appreciate the help, Im on a bureaucratic limbo and not feeling like talking to any officer about it anymore lol. I was admitted to a full scholarship program in a very big university here and also i had a job offer, an IT company that has been trying to employ me for more than 4 weeks, I went to the interview monday knowing that today my visa expired so my I-94 and My social security card has "Valid for work only with DHS Authorization" I know that means I can't work lol. Anyways. I told em i already filed my AOS and waiting for the biometrics after receiving mail confirming the receipt of all 3 forms (I-131 I-456 I-765) and they said they are okay with it but still need to run a background check. my question is. How long does it take after biometrics to apply for an expedite EAD ? And what are the next steps after receiving the biometrics mail (which I haven't yet). I've had alot of opportunities but i can't do anything because my AOS will take ages. Also acquiring a State ID. Can anyone tell me anything on how long this might be to receive the biometrics mail and how long do i need to wait before getting a status change on the USCIS.

sorry for the long post. I appreciate the help.

P.S: forgot to mention I filed for a name change at the SSoffice and they rejected it because they said my name won't change untill my name changes on the immigration form in the DHS

I applied for expedite the day I did my biometrics but my application was halted because I did not send in the I-130A with my first application. If USCIS did not have to send me the RFE, the expedite would likely have been adjudicated right now. I've been researching this topic in depth and it seems that approved expedites can take from anywhere as long as the same day to one month. After sending in my expedite request again on June 12, an officer has been reviewing it since around 3:30pm yesterday.

Hello everyone. I filed my AOS from a K1 Visa on May 1st, NOA date May 5th and Biometrics completed May 31st. I just received a change to my status saying, "Ready to be scheduled for an Interview". My question is... if I have that status, does that mean that we will have an interview? Is there a chance the interview could be waived or does this status mean it is certain?

Grrr turned away from walk in yesterday.... told to come back in today after 2 pm. Hoping its the same guard so can get in and get it done.

Problem now is update on USCIS website and 485 says RFE... bad news keeps getting worse. I am guessing we can't expedite the EAD after the walk in until this RFE is received by us and replied too? Or since the EAD form doesn't show an update, we could go ahead and do the expedite? Our issue is we have someone telling us we have a job offer coming in 2-3 weeks or as soon as our Bio is done. However they can only hold the position for up to a month as they need it filled... So maybe if we do expedite the EAD before our RFE gets here, it could still go through if its for something unrelated to the work permit on the 485?

Can't imagine what it could be for. No other forms are updated on the USCIS portal, just the 485.

When you guys are requesting an expedited on the EAD, are you just calling USCIS main phone number, or doing something else?

Ok so we got our walk in bio done! Took 10 minutes, thankfully the security guard remembered and let us go in. Guess it paid to be nice yesterday....

So waiting to tell the other employers about this, I guess we should try and expedite or would everyone recommend waiting on either an actual job offer(Assuming they ask for this upfront before even beginning the expedite process) or the RFE to see what it is for? Our actual Bio appointment wasnt for 2 more weeks so a bit ahead of the curve.

They won't process your expedite request until you respond to the RFE so you will have to wait for it anyway.
