The problem is my attorney.  They are handling my papers from day 1 and know all the loops. I cannot do anything or call Uscis without their knowledge. I know that I have to wait as my papers are filed in Texas. It has a longer waiting period.  Will want everyones prayers at this time. Thanks

If you hired an attorney, you shouldn't be asking questions here really.

if you don't trust your attorney, then you have a bigger problem.

I don't know your case, but if it's just AOS from legal statue, you're fine. You should be able to call USCIS and ask them questions about your recipient. Just don't do that before 1 month from Arrival

Yeah, I trust my attorney.  They are reputed. I m just curious and hence these questions. I m basically a RN and transitioning from F1 status to AOS through employment schedule A nurses. Hope everything goes on well. Will keep informed.

Thank you though for your suggestions.

We did my wife's biometrics appointment this morning for AOS, EAD, AP from K1 at the Long Island City USCIS office in New York.  Here's our experience:

1.) wait in line for security desk, show biometrics receipt notice and passport

2.) sit down, fill out paperwork - wife put down all 3 receipt notice numbers for AOS, EAD, and AP

3.) back in line at security desk, asked for marriage cert because passport last name differs from married name we put on application and listed on receipt notices

4.) sit again and wait to speak to USCIS agent about last name change, while waiting we noticed that the security didn't list our receipt notice number for AP, only for EAD and AOS

5.) back to security to fix that, they didn't know what to do and told us to wait and ask the agent

6.) waiting for agent again in seats, agent came out of her office, viewed all our forms, told us that we didn't need the AP receipt on the form we received because EAD and AP are a combo card, wrote notes about approving last name change, gave us a number to wait in another set of seats for biometrics, took about 15 min total

7.) waited for about 30-45 min for our number to be called, wife went and had her fingerprints and photo taken.  Agent had trouble getting good fingerprints because my wife gets sweaty palms sometimes and it happened this morning.  Agent said we were good to go, if fingerprints had any problems they would call us back to do them again, potentially at a police office

No updates yet on USCIS track after completing this mornings biometrics, will update you all when we get an update.

Cheers, good luck, and God bless :)

This is just my perception with nothing really to back it up, but it seems that family based AOS move faster than employer sponsored AOS.  I suspect it might have something to do with visa numbers being immediately available for family based petitions.

I also failed to check multiple boxes on my I-130 and did not send in an I-130A. I know my entire application sucked but as long as they send RFEs and not a rejection, I'm fine with it! I'm with you on the wasted money, I got a quote from my lawyer friend and I said hell no! I'll fill in those damn forms myself. Took me over 10 hours and I still did them wrong :D

In my case my visa numbers are available and thats the reason the attorney has done concurrent filing with I 140 and AOS. I feel its the workload of that service center. Any one got NOA from TSC and is a May Filer, Please update.

Thanks

You're right. And to clear, it took 10 hours just to print the forms and evidence and double check everything. Those forms are a LOT of work. I was so stressed out. My poor USC husband has a whole new appreciation for the immigration process. It's upset him so much lol!
