Awesome!! So happy for you guys!! :) That doesn't seem to bad at all. Our appointment is at 8 am and an hour and a half away. We planned to get there about 15 minutes early. Hopefully, that's enough. The letter we got asked for some things that we didn't even send with our initial application. Such a letter from my employeer current rate of pay and hours, which I was just going to take updated pay stubs but now wondering if I need to ask HR for this? Im a salaried employee and pay stubs would show this.

For evidence we plan to take:

Bank statements in both our names

Last home sell document which has both of our names on it

Our new home contract which has both names on it

Loan application for our new home in both our names

Current lease agreement in both our names

Auto, home and health insurance showing both of our names

Forms showing her as the primary beneficiary for myself for all benefits

Pictures from our wedding here and there

Flight stubs from trips together

Hoping that's enough

How would you get citizenship before 10-year green card? I thought you applied for those at the same time(3 years after approval of this?)

It sounds like you are taking lots of evidence with you-more than enough I would think.

As for the employment verification letter and pay stubs; we brought those but she didn’t ask for them and when we offered them she said she didn’t need them.  It’s probably more for if you’ve changed jobs and need to show new proof of income.  Otherwise, your tax return will have that information.

I forgot to mention that she also didn’t ask us for an updated medical.  I had gotten mine done before the policy was changed, giving the medical a 2 year validity period instead of the original 1 year.  I asked her if she needed it and she did take it, but I think if I hadn’t brought a new one with me it would have been ok.  She said since I had done it anyway, she would take it, just to have a recent one on file.

The ROC needs to be applied for in 2 years and citizenship in 3, but she said it’s taking 2 years to get the 10 year green card, so the more likely scenario would be that I never actually get that card, just an extension letter and then citizenship.  Who knows what things will be like by then though.

They will explain all that to you at the interview.

Give yourselves lots of time to get to the interview.  If it takes over  an hour to get there,  you still have to go through security and check in and probably use the restroom!

Where did your read about the updated medical policy? We're adjusting from tourist though and not K1 so maybe doesn't work for us.

That makes sense about the citizenship then.

20181016-I-693Validity.pdf

This is the new info.  Unfortunately I didn’t see it before having my Medical redone.  I’m also adjusting from a tourist visa.  The officer did confirm the two year validity of the medical, but she also still took my new medical...so I’m not 100% sure what would have happened if we hadn’t brought it.  Technically though, you should be fine with the original.

I received the txt notification of interview scheduled 9 days ago but I haven’t received letter as of today, nothing on informed delivery for today. I just called USCIS and an agent told me I would have to wait about a month so they can do something about it. By then we would probably miss the interview. She said that no information is available at this time. What can I do if letter is lost? How long does usually take for it to arrive?

You can call USCIS and ask to speak to a tier 2 officer and they can tell you the date and time of your interview.  That’s what I did, while I was waiting for the letter.

We moved about 6 months ago, we both did change of address on I130 and I485, received confirmation, both letters and on the website history it shows that the change of address was completed. They sent this interview letter to our old address even though we did all this changes. Thank god that usps mail forwarding  is still active after 6 months. I haven’t received it yet but I can see it on informed delivery for monday.

Had interview this morning. Went well from what I can tell. Called in to room about 10 mins after appointment time. Officer said she believed she had everything she needed and that we'd get an update within the next few days.

Gratz!!! How nice is the Irving office?  Did you have any early appointment or afternoon? Assuming you went there based on the signature.  We'll be there next week!

It's a big center - there was a citizenship ceremony going on when we arrived. Make sure to check the traffic ahead of time, there was a massive wreck on 114 closing the whole road, luckily we missed it on the way there.

Our appointment was 12:30pm - we turned up at 11:45, sat in the car until 12 - A line of about 15 people to go through security, didn't take long. When you get in, you'll go upstairs & hand your interview letter to the receptionist on the left and they'll tell you to take as eat.

We got called in at around 15-20 minutes after our appointment time - Our interviewing officer was really nice, explained everything to us, what the structure of the interview would go like. She made small talk throughout the interview - and asked questions about where we had been with our photo's etc and genuinely seemed interested in us.

She asked if we had any questions at the end of it, and said it may be up to 2 weeks before we hear anything, but she said she felt like we had everything needed in our case.

5am this morning my status updated to my new card was being produced.

Happy to finally have it all done!

Hope yours goes well.

The same thing happened to us.  Our new address had been confirmed many times, acknowledged on our online case status, etc.  They still sent the interview notice to our old address.  Make sure when you go to the interview you confirm your new address with the interviewing officer.  When we did that, she said it had been updated everywhere except one spot.  She changed it right then and there and thankfully the green card came to our current address.

I am planning on doing that, thanks.

For the couples with interviews already, did they take another certified copy of your marriage certificate? We mailed in a certified copy and on the letter its asking for another copy of it. I don't think we have anymore certified copies only regular copies and worried if we will have time to get another certified copied by our interview now with all the holiday stuff we had come up this last week.

I mailed a certifiied copy in the application and took another certified copy with us to the interview.

The officer compared the two side by side and handed it back to me. If you absolutley cannot get one prior, maybe take the original and explain?

Picking up a certified copy should take you only 10 minutes, I went to a local office and got a couple a while back.

When is the interview ?
