We contacted them originally as soon as we had a job offer in writing originally.

In this case we contacted them 1.5 months after the renewal submission since our time line was so tight. They have told us there is nothing they can do right now though. We are super worried about having to postpone our wedding.

Get an InfoPass asap - they may be able to help.

My first EAD was expedited on me having pre-booked travel, not sure how much the current administration has changed rules around that though

Well some offices are processing faster than others.

it is not the office. Our cases are still at the national processing center.  It is the lockbox office. I live in Memphis and immigration is here super fast. Two years ago I got my citizenship in two months. Ceremony etc. However, right now it takes 18 months because of background checks. Some of us got stuck with background checks.  We all got stuck with background checks, when the background checks get clear we get an interview right away.

Not really, it depends on your location as previously mentioned and what type of application you have in.

i.e. me being in Dallas has different processing times to one in New York for interviews.

So today I got an email from VisaJourney asking me to update my timeline since it hadn’t been updated in 12 months (which was when I got my EAD).  Unfortunately there are still no updates.  No interview letter after 15 months of waiting.  And my local office is processing cases between 12-18 months, so I’m still within their processing times and can’t make an inquiry.  The stress of waiting and not knowing gets to me sometimes.  This in-between status makes me feel very vulnerable and my AP has expired so I feel stuck as well.  If I had known it would take this long, we would have waited a few months to file so I could have gotten the 10 yr green card instead of the 2 yr.

Sorry to be negative, I just needed to express myself to people who are/have gone through this.  My husband’s family just doesn’t get it.  I’m pretty sure they think I’m already a citizen.🙄

Two years ago, it used to take 3 months or 4 months to be called for the interview. How come suddenly it is taking over 15+ months? They say because of a lot of applications. No, it is not the case. It is because the background checks are taking more than usual and also uscis wants to make sure your marriage is legit. Before, so many applicants got a divorce after they have obtained their green cards. It is almost impossible to find out if the marriages are legit or not. Thats why they want to make sure you about your marriage and other important things.

We did that before and were told that since we had an expedite in process nothing they could do but wait. Our expedite was 'completed' on the USCIS site on the 26th but we haven't received a letter requesting any additional information. We've been looking for another infopass appointment but haven't had any availability this week at all. Been checking daily between 6:45-8 am manually and then doing the auto site refresh trick every 30 seconds waiting on something to pop up and nothing. Dallas area is insane with people waiting.

We started telling people we may have to push the wedding and, she found out 2 board members from my wife's company were waiting for us to get there to spring a emergency business meeting due to finance issues. They're requesting some audits of the company's book and all kinds of wishy washy stuff on the back end be looked over with all investors and board members. Once we started telling more people about the push then it became a 'you need to figure out how to get here before we restructure since your so far away and can't help.' Now she has letters from the CFO, company's attorney and GM saying she needs to be there. We emailed these over to our congress man and hoping they can help and don't try to say it was pre-planned or 'well not a US company, so we don't care.' From the sounds of it, there about a month away being issued fines by government agencies for not paying VAT or Social Security for employees so wedding was already a pretty big deal but were trying to avoid any government fines and fees now...

I don't believe that. Went to info pass last month and only three people were waiting. It was 10.00 am.  If the office was busy then it should be packed.

Then how are other people that filed after a lot of us in this thread already approved and got green cards from different locations? Some within as little as 4-5 months? Your logic is flawed.

Ah that sounds like a nightmare, sorry you're going through it.

I'm also in Dallas, i managed to get an InfoPass appointment using the site refresh trick - although i ended up cancelling it due to my card eventually coming through.

What Congressman represents your district? My area falls under Joe Barton, his immigration specialist has been nothing but incredibly helpful for me and my expedite requests.

When you mention the expedite showing completed on USCIS - i'm not sure what you're referring to. When i did mine i had to fill out a privacy release form but i didn't see any sort of expedite request update on USCIS, except for my case changing to 'Approved' for my EAD/AP

We're under Sam Johnson. I was going to try and contact another office to see if they could help but seems like you can't do that.  The site refresh worked great last week but this week just seems like it's not working at all. Not really sure whats going on. Last week when I checked at 7 am, had 3 choices just pop up and went in.  Was it your renewal that got processed or originally?

We first did a phone expedite with USCIS on the 26th and we thought we would get a letter requesting evidence but now have not gotten anything. We've even called to ask L2 if they can read any communications that were sent on the 26th and they said we just need to keep waiting and be patient..

Both my original, and renewal i needed to expedite due to work travel needed for the AP.

Interesting - I've never had the updates like you posted, only when it changed to approved. From what i understand my Congressman's Rep emails direct to a mailbox at USCIS for expedites. I sent across signed letters from my VP at work, along with flight booking's and privacy release forms to allow congress office to act on my behalf.

For your renewal, what did you send or claim for expedite reason on the renewal?  Wondering if were just missing some magic wording.

Nevermind, just re-read. Work international travel? Which I think the business need back home for her would fit?
