 I know right, maybe they heard us talking and got tired of us whining and was like... ok you can have your interview dates now. I'm positive you'll get yours soon, its about that time.

We're so excited and nervous at the same time, my husband has asked me to take deep breaths like a thousand times since I got the update cause I'm freaking out. He's the petitioner and my child and I came here on B2 visa, so with all the bad news flying everywhere, its making me more scared.

We've tons of pictures with friends and families, joint lease, I'm an authorized user on 2 his credit cards, joint bank account, car insurance,  beneficiary of his SGLI military life insurance and medical insurance, I still feel all of these are not enough and its making me scared, i have read several peoples interview experience her on VJ and that has calmed me down a little bit, just having an idea of questions they can ask.

Any advise/ideas/help on how to prepare for the big day would highly be appreciated.:help:

It looks like you have good evidence. Bring all the bank statements, insurance documents, lease and all the other stuff (pictures, etc) to the interview and you'll be fine. We had similar evidence and our interview was easy.

OK, I sure will. Thank you, I hope the interview goes easy for us too.

I went to the DMV this morning to get my license extended. It was originally provided to me with an expiry date that matched my EAD expiry date. I showed them the receipt for my EAD renewal and that was enough to get a one-year extension on my license.

Am I naïve to hope that I’ll have my green card before then? After more than 14 months of waiting, It sometimes feels like I’ll be stuck in this limbo forever.

How long it takes to get EAD renewal recipe? And does it says in renewal recipe that your EAD extended for one year or 180 days? My license gonna expire next month and I just sent paperwork for renewal EAD

It only took about a week to get the receipt.  The receipt says it grants a 180 extension for the work permit.  I’m not sure why the DMV extended my drivers license for a year-they must have their own policies they go by.  They knew exactly what the EAD renewal receipt was though-just goes to show how slow my field office is!

Thank you! I hope my dmv office wouldn’t give me a hard time with this

You’re welcome!  I’m sure it will be fine.  I was nervous about them accepting that receipt also, but I think they are getting more and more used to seeing things like that with how long processing is taking these days.

Contacted my congressman and received a reply. Apparently, my case is stuck on background check. Anyone is experiencing the same thing?

I'm frustrated.

"Thank you for your inquiry regarding this constituent’s immigration matter.  U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records confirm that your constituent’s case is pending background check clearance.  USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely manner while also ensuring public safety and national security.  A small percentage of applications and petitions have unresolved background check issues that temporarily delay adjudication.  Although USCIS makes every effort to resolve such cases promptly, USCIS is unable to speculate when the background check will be completed.

If a background check reveals an issue that may impact an applicant’s eligibility for the requested immigration benefit, further inquiry is needed.  The inquiry may include an additional interview and/or contact with another agency for updates or more comprehensive information.  Upon gathering and assessing all available information, USCIS will adjudicate the application as quickly as possible.

USCIS realizes that your constituent may be frustrated by the progress of his or her case.  However, the agency must balance individual inconvenience against broader issues of public safety and national security."
