Did anyone tried  to contact congressman or ombudsman? Can it help somehow?

Hi
My wife PD 1 may 2017. Brooklyn,NY. so it's over 12 months waiting.
Some people suggest to contact congressman and ombudsman.
I made 2 SR , contact congressman she made request but they send standart answer.

May 12  I fill form for Ombudsman ,get answer May  19:
While we understand your concerns, our review indicates that your case is within normal processing times as posted on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) website at https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/. Because your case is currently within normal processing times, our office will be closing this matter.

I'm so angry I can't understand why the call for interview people who filled in 2018 but don't care about who filled in 2017.

Maybe contact with senator but I thinking she/he gonna send me same answer ( You are within normal time)

Don't wait - they're currently taking around 4 months to process EAD's

Good morning everyone! I haven’t updated my timeline in a while but I still read new posts from time to time.

Finally! Interview scheduled for July 6, 2018. Received notice yesterday dated May 29, 2018. PD is May 31, 3017. Ready to be scheduled for an interview since July 13, 2017.

Submitted a SR online back in December 27, 2017 for case outside of normal processing time. Got an email response on May 17, 2018. 4 months+ after!

I got worried because my local field office’s processing times went from 11.5 - 18 months to 11.5 - 26.5 months for family-based AOS.  👎🏼😡

I was about to file for EAD/AP renewal next week which expires 09/20/2018.

So, good luck to everyone else who are still waiting for their cases to progress. Patience is key! 👍🏼🤞🏼😊

Reposting what I posted in NYC filers:

We had our GC interview yesterday at the Jacob Javits federal bldg in Manhattan (we live in Sunnyside, Queens).

We didn’t get approval or denial, just pending result, but told we could expect approval but may have to submit a new medical exam.  we had an overseas exam during the K1 process - I explained and showed USCIS documentation from the medical exam instructions pdf that - while, yes, it’s been more than a year since we filed, that the requirement was only that we file our overseas exam document within a year of the exam.  The agent told us that she would have to check with her supervisor but thought that we would need a new exam.

About an hour after we left, we received the status update that our new card is in production, so I’m guessing the supervisor agreed with me, and / or the agent decided to approve us.

Citizenship process complete!  First a J1 work/travel Visa visitor from Philippines to Texas where we met each other, then back to Philippines.  Ultimately, immigrated here via a K1 Marriage-based petition in 2016, AOS started in 2017, completed in 2018, ROC started/completed in 2020, N-400/Citzenship granted in 2022 - timeline link below:

Also I am applying to renew the ead but there is one thing I remember. In order them to renew our ead and work permit etc. They need a new finger print. Our finger print is going to expire. The work permit will not come to our mail box suddenly. First they will send the bio app. Then the combo card arrives. Thats what I remeber. Also when I went to bio app there was a guy who was getting extention.

So if this is the case they must issue green card by the time combo expires.

From Page 7 of 12, from I-683 Instructions PDF from here:

https://www.uscis.gov/i-693

(download the Instructions for form I-693 pdf, second download link, not the actual 693 form)

This part, Page 7, item 3 - A and C, regarding our overseas exam form DS-3025 (my wife received a blanket waiver on her DS-3025 from having to do a new medical exam here with the Civil Surgeon, and so, no need to turn in form I-683):

3. What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical examination overseas?
If you were admitted as a:
A. K-1  ancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1  ancé(e); or
B. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and
C. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:
(1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as you  le your Form I-485 within one year of an overseas medical examination; and
(a) The panel physician did not  nd a class A medical condition during your overseas examination; or
(b) The panel physician did  nd a class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility, and
you have complied with the terms and conditions of the waiver.
(2) Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included
as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the Part 9. Vaccination Record completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you must submit Parts 1., 2., 3., 4., 6., and 9. of Form I-693.

Also, I brought the whole document I-693 instructions, with page 7 bookmarked and the specific Part 3 A and C highlighted, and it was attached to a copy of our DS-3025

Thank you so much. You have show them what they must do. If you did not show this probably you were spending your $500 for medical again.

Exactly, and they still could’ve made us do it again, thanks God they did not

Also they lost our marriage certificate, fortunately I brought another certified marriage certificate, and they kept it

They kept an original birth certificate too

I turned in 3 certified marriage certificates originally by the way - one for each - AOS / EAD and AP

I don't think that's true.

I received a letter stating that i get an automatic 6 month extension if my new EAD doesn't arrive by the time my current one expires. The letter i received acts as proof of extension. I'm pretty sure you don't have another biometric appointment for a renewal.

Don't be naive in thinking 'they must issue the green card by the time the EAD expires' - this makes no sense.

You know better than I do. Can you leave usa with that extension.? AP?
