We finally heard back on the 3rd that our interview will be June 6 - one year exactly from the date of our filing (PD was May 9, ead/AP/aos all filled May 3, 2017, but only ead/AP noa1 said May 3, aos said May 9 for some reason).  I put in a service request for case taking longer than expected back in November 9 last year (after 6 months).  It took 4 months or so to hear back, and all we got was a letter that said it’s not outside of normal processing time for where it was at.  Have you tried putting in a service request?  If not, I’d recommend it.  It can take a year or more to hear back, just as it did with us.  Hang in there, and let us know if you need any support!

edit - reason I recommend it, is just to get someone to check on your case to make sure it didn’t get lost in the shuffle there, or you can call and ask to speak with a tier 2 person at the 1-800 number

Citizenship process complete!  First a J1 work/travel Visa visitor from Philippines to Texas where we met each other, then back to Philippines.  Ultimately, immigrated here via a K1 Marriage-based petition in 2016, AOS started in 2017, completed in 2018, ROC started/completed in 2020, N-400/Citzenship granted in 2022 - timeline link below:

Ah! I remember you! It's good to hear from you! Yes, I did put in a service request 3 times haha and all the replies were the same:

" Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in the order received and in a timely and efficient manner.  We regret any inconvenience that results from delays in processing."

I'm gonna put in a service request again next month... good luck on your interview!

I'm gonna put in a service request again next month... good luck on your interview!

You could also get your Congressperson involved.  When EAD/AP was taking much longer than anticipated and 3 service requests did nothing, we got our Congresswoman involved and heard back that the card was in production within a month.

They can't directly do anything; they mostly just provide pressure and inquire to make sure your case isn't lost or being unduly delayed.

Good luck!

Sounds like they are just backed up big-time, hopefully you’ll be one of those who gets to skip the interview, also - as a plus and a minus — if it takes more than two years (the minus) to get it, I believe you it’s possible you might get your 10 year GC instead (the plus)
