My interview is next week and I'm starting to get really nervous. I have made copies of everything and included all originals, but now I'm wondering if I'm missing anything. It's been almost 8 years since I've become out of status and now that it's so close, I can't help but feel a little overwhelmed. I just hope everything goes well.

So I checked and I had clearly not fully read the receipt.. as you can see in the attached it DOES state that the receipt does not grant any immigration status or benefit, however if your case qualifies under certain requirements then the receipt does qualify as the ‘confirmation’ of an automatic 180 day renewal.

They don’t make it all that simple :/

Yes, that’s the same receipt letter I got.  Basically, it lets us keep working if our EAD expires but we can’t travel outside the country as we could with the combo card.  I’m also not sure I could use that letter to get my driver’s license renewed, which expires at the same time as my EAD.  Which I’ve just realized is almost as important:(

We finally got an interview date!  June 6, which will be one year and 5 days since we did biometrics, and we filed May 3 last year.  Our online status updates have been a bit crazy:

egov - may 9/17 - Fingerprint Fee received

myuscis - June 15/17 - interview ready to be scheduled

egov - April 30 - Employment based interview scheduled (what?? We are family based from K1 lol — I found out it’s a common error and just waited for the letter in the mail)

letter came in the the mail yesterday, correct interview scheduled for June 6.

good luck and god bless everyone, hope this helps someone

Citizenship process complete!  First a J1 work/travel Visa visitor from Philippines to Texas where we met each other, then back to Philippines.  Ultimately, immigrated here via a K1 Marriage-based petition in 2016, AOS started in 2017, completed in 2018, ROC started/completed in 2020, N-400/Citzenship granted in 2022 - timeline link below:

This gives me hope. You and i have had the same timeline basically so hopefully i will get mine soon. I've been holding on on sending my EAD/AP renewal, dont want the hassle of doing the paperwork again just to get the interview letter a couple of days later LOL.:clock:
