Still waiting for an interview. My spouse's combo card will expire within 120 days, so it is time to renew both the EAD and AP. Do we submit the same two forms (i-765 and i-131) as before? Do we need to pay any additional fees for renewal? Thanks.

Hi, you have to apply before it expires. The EAD will most likely be automatically approved after you send I-765, as for your AP, I am not entirely sure, it is handled differently. It seems that also needs to be filed before it expires.

Yes, both forms are used again, and if you by what I found, no fee is required, but you have to send the copy of the NOA1, and a copy of your EAD and AP respectively.

We sent our application off yesterday with about 170 days before it expires. We sent the latest I 765 & I 131 application forms in separate envelopes both with a copy of our I 485 receipt and the I 765 receipt with that application and the I 131 receipt with the I 131 application. We also sent the approvals with each and a copy of the front & back of the combo card, a copy of the barcodes page and a copy of our marriage certificate. You will also need two new passport sized photos for each application. If you want to get the text/email notifications put a G1145 in with each one too.

You don’t have to pay any fees for a renewal and the renewal will give you another 180 days of authorization. Hope that helps!

They say the maximum time recommended to renew it is 180 days before your current one expires. We received mine September 2017 and have already sent the application in so I would suggest you begin getting ready to apply. I applied this far in advance purely because my first one took 4 months and I don’t trust that the second one will be any faster...

Hope USCIS accepts your EAD/AP renewal applications! Would appreciate your update once you receive your new NOA1 letters.

We too are planning to file for EAD and AP renewal, but not sure about how early can we file - 180, 120, or 90 days before expiration of the current card. Info is conflicting.

It says the USCIS website up to 180 days before the current one expires and it’s not recommended to do it more than 180 days before. That’s why we put ours in now :)
