Received or accepted?  I'm still trying to get comfortable with the vocabulary

Basicly, recept date is the day after your package was delivered but they take time to respond by a recept notice saying that you case has been received and accepted if no mistakes were made in preparing the pacakge missing a form or a signature or incorrect fees..

I know some one who's wife received her GC now he subbmitted with forms without adding the $85  biometrixs fees in his rejection letter it was not mentioned clearly  it said your application was not in the correct order,

He was not an expert or a guy with knowledge in tis area so he had to consult a lawyer to find out what was wrong..

Takes alot of time effort and $

Thank you! I don't know why they moved my case to NBC though. o_O

My wife's 485 case is also at NBC, according to USCIS case status thing - it says so in the text about my "Fingerprint Fee" being received.

As I understand from reading the forums on here, all AOS (485) cases goto NBC.  Once there, they either stay there or get forwarded to a local USCIS field office to be processed.  It sounds like cases that stay at NBC can sometimes take a little longer than the local offices to process, but it also sounds like cases that stay at NBC don't always require an interview.  I'm paraphasing what others have said on this thread here (suggest reading it so I don't give any incorrect info):
