Hello!

Really sorry if this has already been asked before, I’ve had a look at the other threads and haven’t been able to find a confirming answer. So just want to double check!

NVC received our K1 petition yesterday and they have assigned the case number which we have got, they told us that it will be about 1-10 days for London to receive the case and to call back on Friday to get an update!

My question is – am I able to call Knightsbridge and book my medical for the end of May now that I have my LND case number? I’ve read that they ask for a letter from the embassy confirming your case number and visa type – so just want to make sure a month is enough time for them to receive it and for me to get the letter and organise my police certificate, I’ve already had all my immunisations! If it is better to wait till the CEAC status is displaying in-transit I will do this, just trying to be proactive!

Thank you in advance!

Yas

You may want to wait until you receive an interview date from the Embassy, just incase there is any kind of delay.

When I booked my medical, the physician wanted a copy of the confirmation of the date and time of the interview.

What at I did while waiting for that was make sure I was up to date on all vaccinations required and that I had sufficient proof of same.  Have everything ready to go to make this last leg go smoothly.

If I remember correctly, I just phoned Knightsbridge once I had my case number and made an appointment at that time. I don't think I had my physical letter at that point, but all they asked for was the case number and what visa I was applying for. The lady I spoke to on the phone was really friendly and very helpful!

You can for a London based interivew, however, be aware that the visa, if granted, will expire 6 months from medical date. So you may signifigantly shorten your time to move by having the medical too early.

My fiancé and I got our case number on Monday morning from the NVC.  He called yesterday and booked his medical for closer to the end of May.  Our packet is in transit to London (from the tracking I have seen it arrived today).  We are hoping to schedule the interview by early next week for the week after the medical.  He had no issues booking his medical.  They just asked him for his case number and when he wanted to come in.  They were very helpful for him.

Also, I know every country is different but I went on to look at the page to schedule the interview for London and it asked for your medical appointment date when booking the interview so I am assuming that you have to book the medical first.  I could be completely wrong in saying this but that is just what I got out of it.

The police certificate was pretty quick as well.  We applied for that about a month ago and it came in about a week and a half.  Good luck to you!  Hope everything goes smoothly for you!

Hi!

Looking for advice, I haven't be been registered with a Dr for about a year! Just because jobs moved me around but this new patient summary is it only if you have had some form of health issue be it mental or physical in the past or current. I've read on other uk pages that if you've never had any health issues then it's not needed as your questionnaire ask someone these type of questions!

Gettinn in a panic as my medical is Tuesday and it's now starting to play on my mind!

My understanding is the six-month grace period to get to the United States started on the day of the visa approval… Is this incorrect? Does it actually start on the day of your medical exam?

Good to know. Do the results then go straight to the embassy or do you get a copy to take with you to your interview?

Wondering how far in advance he needs to schedule his medical prior to the interview.

Thank you for being so helpful!

Assuming there are no problems from the medical tests, they send the results through to the embassy - you don't need to take them with you - within 5 working days. I booked my interview for about 10 working days after the medical just to be sure, but obviously that was probably being overly cautious :)

Has anyone had experience with calling for an appointment to schedule the medical during the four months but the medical appointment actually being outside of the four month timeframe after NOA2 ?
