Passport or not?

I know this might sound stupid but my Spain's passport is expired and I completely forgot about that... In a month I have to send all the paperwork to remove the conditions of my residency and i know that my passport is gonna take 2 months to be renewed..... I am not sure if I have to send a copy of my passport this time or not.... Do i have to send a copy of my passport to remove the conditions of my residency?? or they only need my state id and green card?????? Pleeeeease helppppp i dont know what to do.... should i send a copy even though its expired????

Not only do you not need your passport, you also don't need your state ID. The only required form of ID is your green card.

In some cases, the state ID or passport might help you prove a relevant point, so might be worth including even though it's not explicitly required. For example, both your passports showing identical entry/exit stamps might be used to show you took vacations together. Both your driver's licenses/state IDs showing identical addresses might help establish that you live together. But these things will vary depending on individual circumstances.
