Packet 4

Hey all,

I know there used to be a thread on here for people waiting on packet 4 but I couldn't find it. So I was just kind of wondering who else is playing the waiting game?

Anyone know how long average is taking to get back packet 4 for right now?

I'm so ready for all this to be done with

Mine was recieved at the embassy today - now waiting for PK4

In fact - our dates are almost exact! Maybe I'll see you at the interview!

It was about a 2 week wait between sending in packet 3 and getting packet 4. That was two months ago though. And I read that they were probably slowing down because of other visas like schooling and stuff.

It took 3 weeks for us to get packet 4, but that was before Easter holidays when everything shuts down for several days. If you start to get anxious, around two weeks after sending in packet 3 you can call the State Department in the US to see if they've entered your materials into the system and/or scheduled an interview date yet. Most of us seemed to have better luck getting info from the State Department than from London Embassy itself.

Thanks guys. I think it's been close to 3 weeks since we sent off packet 3. Hopefully he'll get packet 4 sometime this week. We were hoping for an interview date around the same date as his medical so he doesn't have to go to London twice. He lives about 2.5 hrs away and doesn't drive, so it's a bit costly to get to London! haha.

I could be mistaken...but I am pretty sure you can do the interview on the same day as the medical.

But honestly he might consider doing the medical the day before...just in case the interview is in the morning.

I also think that it takes a little longer to get your visa as they would need to review it.

Chris and I looked into this option briefly but we decided to just go down to London twice.

He did take the train from Doncaster...and had no problem getting his way around. He also stayed over night the night before the interview. Several other people have stayed at the same place.

As ajames79 mentioned, you can do the interview and medical on the same day. However, it takes the medical results four days to reach the embassy, so you'd be approved pending medical report. This would delay them sending out your visa by a week or so (at least).

I agree with Gary and Kris......calling the State Department was the route we went. We waited about a week and a half before calling. I have to say they were pleasant, professional and prompt. You can't beat that.
