Evidence of bona-fide marriage for possible AOS interview

I'm already gathering evidence for a possible AOS interview. I came to the US on a K1 visa.

So far we have:

Marriage certificate

A joint savings account  (my husband will soon add me to his bank account )

Leasing contract in both our names

One wedding invitation (pictures will follow )

RSVPs from our guests for our wedding (envelopes only?)

Proof of our trip to Florida (hotel receipts and pictures taken of us)

My husband's life insurance where he added me as his beneficiary ( I will add him as a beneficiary when I have a job and can afford a life insurance :D)

We will of course add a copy of our driver's licenses.

As of right now each of us has their own health care insurance since my husband can't afford paying  $700/month for the both of us and paying  $5,000 out of pocket before the insurance covers us.We'll change that once I found a job. I'm still waiting for my EAD.

The utility bills are all in his name. He was only able to add me as an authorized user.

What else could I add for an AOS interview?

You might download and fill out "Living Wills" for each of you, notarized. Other than that, what you have sounds good. The bank account is a pretty big deal; mainly what they want to see is proof of co-mingling of finances, insurance, things like that.

As of right now, my husband pays for rent and utilities since I don't have a job yet. But that will change when I get my EAD in the mail.

Does USCIS only want to see that we have a joint savings and bank account or do they also want to see bank statements? We just opened the savings account and we haven't transferred any money on the account yet. We primarily want to use the account for cashing the checks we get as wedding gifts. After that we want to transfer $100/monthly from our bank account to the savings account. My husband also wants to ask his bank if it's possible to add me on his bank account.

Many additional possibilities....I think

  • Cell phone both on same account
  • Insurance - Health
  • Life insurance beneficiries
  • Investment accounts
  • Cable if using
  • Letters received at same address fro both
  • etc.

We also have different phone plans because I couldn't get a T-Mobile contract without proofing Georgia residency. I don't have an ID or driver's license yet.

I am an authorized user on his utility bills but he couldn't add my name on the bill. Only one name can be on the bills.

They'll want to see joint statement copies from the beginning of the time you're able to share an account; your name and his name on the statement is good, showing the same address.
