In the guide section of VJ they have a link for K-2. I was reading this section about not having to provide I-864 affidavit for the child. This is what is says:

I-864 - Affidavit of Support: K-2's don't require their own separate I-864 with supporting documents (tax returns, etc). Make sure they are listed in section 9 of the K-1's I-864, and provide a photocopy of the K-1's I-864 with the K2's paperwork. You don't need to include copies of the supporting documents with the K-2's paperwork. You won't get an RFE if you do happen to provide a separate I-864 with supporting docs for the K-2. It's just not required.

My problem is when i looked up my wife's I-864 there is no section 9 so i have no idea what they are talking about. Now i did look at the I-134 affidavit of my wife and in section 3 the child is named as a child that is following to join at a later time. Is this what VJ is talking about? I did do another I-864 for the child even thou they said its not required but i just want to make sure of everything before i mail things off.

Thanks

If the K-2 adjust at the same time as the K-1 they do not need their own I-864. You just have to make a copy of the K-1's and put that in the package for the K-2's AOS.

The K-2 is filing 2 yrs later than the K-1 cause the K-2 was a follow to join so he came 1 year later.

You may know this answer also. I am filling out EAD for child so i can get a SS# ( form I-765) so for #16 question. What do i put?  c9 or a6

Here's from the instructions:

Family-Based Nonimmigrant Categories A. K-1 Nonimmigrant Fiance(e) of U.S. Citizen or K-2 Dependent--(a)(6). File Form I-765 if you are filing within 90 days from the date of entry. This EAD cannot be renewed. Any EAD application other than for a replacement must be based on your pending application for adjustment under (c)(9).

I am filing almost 2 years later...
