I-290B and refund by US Treasury

Hi to everyone, 
My I-485 has been denied by USCIS 2 months ago. In the designated time my attorney has filed I-290B and a fee of $675 check attached into the dossier and a couple of days later after the application, this money has been deducted by USCIS from my bank account. 
Today I have received a refund check from US Treasury with the full amount I have paid for the I-290B 

Is it a good sign for me or I would like to have your thoughts on this.

I am curious too. My wife was denied i-751 because she missed her first appointment. She missed her first one and then made it there for the second one yet was still denied. She has since filed an i-290b to appeal the decision. Just waiting now. She has not even received a receipt for the form so I am now getting worried.

Is there any update on this thread? Did the I290B get approved. I have the same situation. I have got a message from USCIS that I290B filing fee is being returned but there is no approval or denial yet so not sure what is going on. We called the service center and they also could not advise on whether the refund is because the I290B was approved and because USCIS made an error in denying the I485 therefore they are making a refund. Any guidance/advice?
