Hello Everyone!

I'm sure this question has been asked a million times but I am inept in finding the answer.

When it comes to evidence of relationship such as bank statements, do you send copies as they are or do you black out information such as account info, balances, etc?

Same with copies of joint credit cards. I thought about blacking out all but last for digits of account numbers. Or just trust that your information will remain secure?

What did you do?

Hi. I sent the monthly summary pages showing opening and closing balances, total deposits, total withdrawals...and I blacked out part of the account number. We had no issues with what was submitted.

Good luck.

For my recent RFE response which I sent out last Wednesday.

I have 2 joint bank account (checking) and was able to print out from 2015 - 2017 April and sent all of them out.

Althought, I looked through the details and highlighted important transactions (such as our paycheck, rental payment, power bill, insurance bill etc).

Anything that proves we are affording out lives together and that we share common finances and spending.

Also, I made a simple note on each bank statement as an explanation.

On top of that, the BoA was able to get me the reference letter attentioned to USCIS that we have accounts jointly and has been active.

When I first filed the application last year, I only attached 3 months of bank statements. Then I received RFE last week.

Yes, I would send all bank statement if I were you. I was worried that it would be too much but I guess the USCIS likes to search details of what we had spent for the past years.

@Cowface thank you so much for the update, yeah i was thinking its too much that's why I decided to get a reference letter from BOA to support the 3 months worth of our joint bank statements that I printed but given your experienced, i might gonna get RFE as well if I will send 3 months worth only. I will print now our joint bank account statement from 2014 to present. I expect it will be more than 200 pages. LOL!

Thank you for the replies. I initially copied all the sheets for as many of the statements I could find. I don't have every one but most and they spread over the two year period. I decided to only submit the top/summary sheet. I did black out all but last for digits of account number and all of the dollar amounts leaving the descriptions. I didn't feel they needed to know how much I spent at Walmart on June 16th 2015 but maybe they do?!? After all these years (both UK immigration and now US) I'm just tired of all the paperwork. So I'll do my best and deal with the RFE if/when it comes in I suppose. Hopefully I'm sending enough. It sure seems like a lot of unnecessary waste of paper.

Are you / have you put your documents in order of document type or by dates?

I organized them as the most recent dates as on the top of the pile and older ones in in the bottom.

That was my attempt to show that we are "AS OF NOW" still in married life, living together in good faith

Follow up question: On bank statements, did you send the entire statement or just the front page? Again, thanks.

We sent the entire monthly statement for every third month, i.e. Mar/June/Sept/Dec or something like that. Still waiting on ROC, so we'll see how it turns out... but friends of ours a couple of years ago didn't include what seemed like extraneous pages from the statement, i.e. pages that didn't show anything about their account balance or usage, and they got an RFE with instructions to include all pages.

Now I'm thinking if still need to print the utility bills from 2014-present. I guess it will be too much doing that. LOL!
