Dear All,

I know it sounds werid but the truth is both of my parents have passed away and they never kept my birth certificate. I was born in Mainland China but have been living in Hong Kong in the past 24 years. The only info I have about my birth is the Place of Birth printed on my Hong Kong passport stating that I was born in Shanghai, China.

Would anyone know if my declaration or oath/affirmation made at the Hong Kong Government Authority about my Birth plus a Certificate of Registered Particulars issued by the Hong Kong Government will help in this case?

I have contacted lawyer in China but since I cannot provide any written info about my birth, there is no way for me to get a Notary there to prove my birth.

Thanks a lot
