You posted at five weeks that you had been in AP for five weeks and didn't know what to do. The advice will be the same each time you post. You shouldn't have bought a ticket until your visa was in hand. You'll just have to get another ticket when you get your visa.

As you have been told before, you just need to wait it out. Please stick to one thread. :)

Same as in your other post earlier and from last week..... never should have gotten a ticket until you had visa in hand.

AP will last as long as it takes for them to finish their processing and background/security checks.

All you can do now is change your flight to a later date or cancel it and get a new one once you have the visa.

There is no way to speed up AP and no one can predict how long it will last

You have been given this advise multiple times

The best you can do now is call the airline about moving your ticket

dont post about the same thing all the time, just follow one.

i understand you are sad and depressed thinking in your AP.

all i can tell AP can be days, weeks, months or years, yes years.

i was in AP on my k1 on 2014, i was in AP for 2 years, and after 2 years waiting my relationship ended, and after 2 years my case was clossed.

the approved me on my interview and they  took my passport, and after 5 months waiting they sent back he passport with a letter saying that my case on AP without explain why was the AP.

after 2 years i found out that it was a wrong record about me at the police deparment here.

but never they said nothing what was wrong.

i found by my own what was the problem, but when i found out my relationship was broken

sso take it easy and be patient

Hi,

I'm having exactly the same case here! Did you do the interview in Guangzhou as well?

I had my interview on Apr 10th, and on CEAC the status has only been updated once on Apr 11th to Administrative Processing. During the interview, I was told that the visa had been approved and I could just wait for the passport at home. But of course, as of today, it still hasn't arrived.

Both my finace and I were quite optimistic about the timeline (as most said they should receive it within 2 weeks) so we planned for everything, the wedding registration, the plane ticket... and, naturally we had to postponed everything!

I wonder if it's because they had a system error. The barcodes on my interview confirmation and the DS160 were not the same. And I read a notice AFTER the interview on their website saying that it could cause a delay in the visa processing:

Quote

Attention: You will NOT be allowed to attend your visa interview and we cannot process your visa application if your DS-160 barcode number is different from the number on your Appointment Confirmation letter. This will cause delay in applying for and receiving your visa. To avoid delay, please ensure the following:
1: Make sure the DS-160 barcode number matches the barcode number in your UStraveldocs profile and on your Appointment Confirmation letter.
2: If you applied for a U.S. visa previously, please update your current DS-160 barcode number in your UStraveldocs profile.
3: We suggest you copy/paste the DS-160 barcode number from the electronic PDF version you received by email.
4: Pay attention to similar characters such as 0 vs. O, 1 vs. I, S vs. 8, B vs. 8 when creating your profile.

So my guess is that they have an quite incompetent IT system. On CEAC website, they also released a notice saying that on Apr 29th they will have a system maintenance. So hopefully things will be moving faster now? Nothing we can do other than wait, wait, and wait....

Please let me know if you've received your visa. Cuz if you have, then I think mine should arrive very soon as well...

With that said, I'm actually quite happy that my case is not an individual case... it may have affected a lot of people.

The Guangzhou Consulate even had an EVUS system breakdown in early Apr... resulting in hundreds tourists having to change their trips.... So, from what I learned, it's all been a mess and we have been so, so unlucky.

I also emailed, called multiple times, and the only answer I've gotten was: just wait patiently... or "we have been having a system delay so it's taking longer than normal"..... other than that, no timeline's been given.

Unfortunately you have to wait out the AP. You never buy your plane ticket until visa is in your hands. AP can take days, weeks, months and even years. I'm sorry that you didn't get your visa yet. My Fiancé is still under AP and it's been 2 months! They say after 60 days you can email Embassy to see what's going on.  If it's still under AP there's nothing you can do but just wait it out. I hope you get your visa soon!

Thank you for you answer, friend!
