Anyone else think it was funny that on CNN, Bill Nye whines about a physicist being on the show to debate him? I think the concept of hostility to skepticism in science shows exactly how the left have tried to hijack this and turn it into dogma. Science is pretty badly marred if it's reduced to fodder for touchy freely enviro-nuts who throw tantrums when people don't let them just have their way.

I've given up debating the devout.  I have used several models recently in my studies and still find them extremely lacking in the assumptions they make that only seem to predict things in the direction the modelers want to display.  Heck, I am all for improving efficiencies, and technologies, but if we take Leonardo's advice and stop taking things from the ground, do we start hunting whales again?

Moreover as we can see with the post above this one it turns into the ever circular argument where it becomes a comparison of who has the most supporters (not science), ad hominem against the climatologists, physicists, etc. who write competing papers (or in some cases threats by leftist nutcases), and of course them begging and pleading to halt Day After Tomorrow doomsday scenarios.

ah yes, science nowadays is a popularity contest - all about ratings. not facts. definitely no room for the premise that scientific fact will, without a doubt, have the support of the vast majority of scientists - though not necessarily armchair scientists or those desperate for ratings/popularity...

Well, "actually," everyone knows that the climate has been changing throughout the 6,000 since the Earth was created. There are accounts from when men and dinosaurs had do hide in caves to take shelter from the big flood, since they were late to join the others in the ark.
