OK, so what EXACTLY does HCMC require here? I need a co-sponsor. My parents have agreed to do that for me.

1. Do they EACH fill out an I-134? Or does my mother fill it out (she makes the most money) and then both sign it?

2. I fill one out as well, correct?

3. Question about Page 1, question #7. It states: "That I am employed as or engaged in the busines of_______ with ____ at __________."

I assume this question is for me or the co-sponsor, and the "business of" would be my occupation and the "with" the place of the occupation?

4. Page 2, question #11 asks when the co-sponsors intend to contribute. My parents want to know if they should put "Room and board for three years"? Anything else? What should I write in? I hate to admit this but I am so stressed about all of this that I am sick to my stomach. :(

Honestly, there is a complete lack of proper instructions! How the heck do we know what to do?! Knowing that HCMC will use any excuse in the book to knock me down, I need to know exactly what I am doing.

5. Does HCMC require me to fill out the I-864 or I-864A? I am royally confused about that one. If so, do I do one and my parents do one?

6. How do my parents prove their assets (as in propery and realestate)?

7. Do they actually want the original hard copies to my birth certificate as well as my parents (co-sponsors)? My original is long ago lost. Now what?

Matt Stevens,

I emailed the VN consulate about having a co-sponsor a while back, and they told me that they will look at the "totality" of the circumstances and the decide whether or not to allow a co-sponsor. They told me the reason is that the I-134 is not a binding contract in non-immigrant visa petitions. I see that you're asking about the I-864 as well and was wondering should I send in the I-864 as well ?

I've emailed them about the I-864. Twice! They have not responded. Unreal. :(

WHat pisses me off about what you state above is that they are breaking the law by those actions. The law clearly states I-134 for a co-sponsor is fine and that if the co-sponsor ualifies, that's that.

I see your interview is soon. Goodluck.

The US Consulate in HCMC emailed me and told me the I-134 was the form they used. I've read nothing about the use of the I-864. It is stated on their website what documents are required for the K-1 Visa.

Good luck!
