The legal challenges were brought before judges who lean towards the democrat party. Which pretty much guaranteed them a result in their favour.

Where there any legal challenges brought against President Obama or is this going to be the norm for the future?

I seem to recall the GOP not voting for anything proposed by Obama. Now I see a GOP not backing their own President. I find it comical that the Democrats are being used as an excuse when the Rebublicans control all three branches of the government. Cry when you win, cry when you lose seems to be their motto.

I still hope against all odds to see some of his admin (esp Hillary) in jail.

I understand the other side of the aisle voting no and if you can't get your laws passed then tough, that's politics.  But running to judges seems to be something new, will this be the future?

Hmm. I'd largely consider it successful in that he did most things he promised (and could do himself) right from the get-go.

I knew from the get-go some of the things he promised required the approval of Congress.

What I do fault him for not delivering on is DACA. I've yet to read an explanation as to why he can't do this.. its as easy as the swipe of a pen. Should've been done first day along with the BP/immigration EO.

Another thing I fault him for is early decisions that cater to the GOP establishment that tried to cheat and swindle him out of the race. While one could say its Trump extending an olive branch, it seems self destructive to his campaign.

DACA is not an EO.  That's why.  It was a DHS memo.

Yeah, it's a directive he can change with the swipe of a pen. Of all the things, this one makes the least amount of sense.

There's been many that say the opposite that it would need to be the head of the DHS

What you are seeing is nothing new in the American system of government. There are three equal branches of government, precisely to prevent the president from ruling alone.

Obstructionism by the opposing side? And his party controls the House and Senate?

That doesn't make sense, but it makes some people sleep better at night. You have the majority and your party rule, but it's easier to blame the other guy for your own inefficiencies.

Not sure how I even ended up on the website but this is from Berkeley.

"Please note DACA is discretionary, and thus this program may be discontinued under the Trump Administration at any time. Individuals with DACA may lose work authorization or may not be allowed to renew their work authorization. If this happens, we will work with students to brainstorm creative strategies with regards to both legal status and work authorization.

Do not apply for an initial or DACA renewal if you have a recent criminal history, as this may make you a priority for removal and provide the government with the information it needs to deport you. Consult with the USP attorney in such cases as we may be able to get post-conviction relief in your case."

So they believe Trump can get rid of DACA, also good to see them giving those with a recent criminal history a heads up not to apply. The US needs to keep all these criminals so let's help them stay.

The program itself defies logic.

Obama did think DACA through before enacting it. That's how presidents work.

There's several people advising him to keep DACA or in favor of it.
