Im trying to get some answers to this questions as i have seen some of this on VJ. I have a 8 year old step son and im filling out his forms for AOS. His mom is already GC holder. It will be 2 years in June 2017 so do i need to fill out a I-693 form for him with his AOS? I didn't do this for my wife and she was just fine and didnt even have a interview for 2yr GC. He did get some shots for school to start but thats it.

Also i have read that for kids parents are filling out a EAD for kids so they will get a SS# even thou they are to young to work. Is that true or not? I am filling out a AP form for him.

Thanks in advance..

hi

yes he will have to do the medical, because over 6 months have passed, since you didn't file the adjustment of status at the same time as your wife

also, as you stated, the work permit is not only for working, it will give him legal stay while he is waiting, he might or might not have an interview and he can get a social security number with a work permit

and since it is free of cost when submitting with the i485, most of times it is sent
