Hi folks,

We just received our NOA2 today (YAY!!) and looking ahead at the estimated processing times it looks like sometime June-July for my interview in Montreal. We have tentative travel plans around that time so what I'm wondering is whether I will be able to select my own interview date (maybe within a given range) or are the interview date and time assigned? From what I've read it sounds like you can pick and choose a bit, but if someone could confirm that it would be super!

Hello,

My Canadian fiance just had her interview just this week April 19th, and we were approved!  So the process is fresh in my mind.

Once you get your NVC MTL# and your CEAC status shows ready, you will be able to schedule your interview.  If you see my timeline, it took almost 4 weeks after we received our NOA2 for us to be able to schedule our interview.

At the time we scheduled our interview online, we had the option to schedule as soon as 3 weeks, and as far away as 1.5 months.  Interviews were only held on Wednesdays.

Ok, here I was all ready to say "no, you don't get to choose." But I guess for K1s you can - lucky you! CR1/IR1 you just take what you get or take your chances on letting them reschedule. Good luck!

K1 in Canada pick their own interview date.  Occasionally there will be none available for months at a time but that generally happens in fall, close to xmas.

Just re-enforcing the previous comments, yes K-1s get to choose. There will be a calendar showing you which days are available when you login, and interviews are typically only held on Wednesdays.

Just looking at K-1 interview slots now. All of the timeslots are Wednesdays, and currently (May 22) they have all of June available (so up to 5 weeks into the future).

I'm trying to get July 5th as per travel I've already booked, so I'm patiently holding out for those weeks to open up. Looks like we'll likely be there a similar time. :)

12/01/2017 -Went to scheduled biometrics appt
01/09/2018 -Receipt available online: AoS finally updated, EAD/AP still getting "Case number invalid" 

01/09/2018 - AoS is marked ready for interview to be scheduled. waiting for date.

02/02/2018 -Receive Paper approval notices for EAD/AP. Day 94. Receipt numbers FINALLY updated from invalid to approved lol.

02/07/2018 - Receive EAD/AP combo card in the mail. Day 99

30/07/2018 - Received notice of appointment for AoS interview scheduled 9/12

12/9/2018 - Had AoS interview and was approved! Day 320
