Hi,

I got cartas de no antecedentes penales from Coahuila and Nuevo Leon as I lived in those states. I took them with me to the interview and they were not required.

Tengo una duda: Estas cartas NO te las pidieron para la entrevista, pero tuviste que mandar copia de ellas junto con los demás documentos al NVC, para que te dieran la cita para la entrevista?

That's correct. We also got la Carta de Antecedentes no Penales when we were in Puebla from the local General Justice department.

My husband and I both went together for interview and stayed for three days in order to have time to prepare and get the biometrics, see the doctor etc. We then flew back to Puebla and received the visa via DHL in a week. Several people waited the week up there and had it delivered to the local DHL in Juarez as they don't hand it to you. When we were there it could only be sent to you via DHL no matter if you waited or not in Juarez. We put the DHL address we wanted through the system online and they just sent it there.

Good luck!

Hi!  1 question: Did you get your Cartas de No antecedentes translated, and sent the copies of both, in Spanish and the translation in english to the NVC in order to get the appointment for the interview?

Regards

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
