I am going to submit the financial documents. However, there are some questions confused me.

Background: My husband graduated from school last year and only worked for 1 year, he just filed the tax several weeks ago. But the poverty line doesn't meet the government's requirement to sponsor me. So we asked his dad to be our joint sponsor. My father-in-law was retired and got money from his old work, he's not got Social Security Benefit yet. Also my husband is still living with his dad and mom.

Questions: Is it right my father-in-law to file I864 that be our joint sponsor?

As  his dad has gotten the tax transcript yet and don't have W2 as he is  retired, so is it ok he submit his 1099R and 1040 Form?

Thanks!

Yes, as long as he meets the 125 % threshold for his household +1.

He can send the tax return and 1099 in lieu of the tax transcripts for the current year.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Thanks! On my father-in-law's 864, does my husband counts 1 household as they live together? But he filed his tax separately.

He's a household member if he's a dependent on his father's taxes, sounds like a no.

Thanks again! And my father-in-law's income is enough for sponsoring me, whether my mother-in-law should still file a 864A form as they filing tax jointly?
