Filed k1 visa but should we have gotten married before?

My fiancé and I filed for the k1 visa and got approved. We are now going through the process of getting his i601 and i212 approval because he was deported for overstaying a visa when he was 18. It is taking forever to get the approval!! We are wondering if we get married in Peru will it be easier for them to approve his 601 and 212 or will it not have any affect on the case? We're just trying to think of the fastest way to get him back to America!

  If you get married your K1 I  out the door and you have to start all over with the I130 for a CR1  and then resubmit the waivers.

you will have to start from scratch, the waivers are always after the interview,, it will take close to 2 years due to paying and sending the waivers and hardship letter after the interview was denied

I wouldn't worry about what could have happened, albeit I don't really see a reason for a significant difference in the timelines with either approach. There's no reason to get married and start the process over again.

Thank you everyone!! We're trying to be patient! The 601 and 212 is taking forever to be approved! We submitted in November 2016. It's been 6 months and we haven't heard anything.
