These photos show the Patriots’ White House turnout for Trump vs. Obama

Why does this matter to anyone? Who cares how many Patriots went then and how many went yesterday? This is such a silly tradition having the championship teams go to the WH, it should be done away with.

Supposedly 34 members of the Patriots attended the white house celebration yesterday compared to 50 the last time in 2015. There are many different reasons given as to why different members of the team did not go. From what has been said in our local news about 5 or 6 members of the team did not attend due to political differences.

Again, I ask, did anyone from the "actual" President's staff, or he himself say anything about this picture?  I will grant you the inauguration thing was quite childish, but in this case it was the NYTs phishing for a reaction.  So far I haven't seen it and we know how much President Trump likes to tweet.  If or when the WH does respond, then all your comment may have validity, but at this point it is just a lot of MDL hand wringing and wishful thinking.

We aren't hoping he will comment on the picture though. I actually hope he moves on and doesn't.

We are commenting on the picture ourselves as a joke since he has a past track record of caring about stuff like this. Once he establishes his maturity and shows that after a few events like this he is willing to be silent and let it slide, the joke will get old. However just last week he was talking about the most "amazing chocolate cake", using hand gestures to imply it was gigantic so he clearly still cares about size.

People have no sense of humour...

It matters, or rather it doesn't, as most of the stuff here anyway. I'm sure this wouldn't be an issue if we hadn't seen the inauguration fiasco, which tells us that crowd sizes matter to the so-called president.

This is not wandering..no one on the left is worried about our national direction for a photo op. I think you are ascribing ideology to the media when in fact they have the selfish commercial skew of selling papers. Its not personal, it's business.  But Trumps fascination with numbers is fascinating

This is a fascinating onsite from Owen at the New Yorker reflecting back on an old interview from 2005 for golf digest:

"In my own article, I did write nice things about Trump’s courses. But Trump, nevertheless, was upset. He called the editor of Golf Digest to complain, and then he called me, on my cell phone. I was in the city on a reporting assignment unrelated to golf, and had the surreal experience of being chewed out by a future President of the United States while standing among the gravestones in the burial ground next to Trinity Church. He wasn’t upset that one of the article’s illustrations had been of a golf ball wearing a turf toupee that looked a lot like his deeply mysterious hair, or that I’d mentioned his asking two little girls at Mar-a-Lago if they wanted to be supermodels when they grew up, or that I’d described nearly tipping him five dollars after momentarily mistaking him for his club’s parking-lot attendant, or that I’d written that he’d introduced one of his club’s members to me not by name but as “the richest guy in Germany.” He was upset that I hadn’t written that he’d shot 71—a very good golf score, one stroke under par.

I hadn’t written that because he hadn’t shot 71. We hadn’t been playing for score, and we had given each other putts and taken other friendly liberties—as golfers inevitably do when they’re just fooling around. I said something to that effect in the politest way I could think of, but he wasn’t mollified. He was also angry that I’d described his wedge game as “poor.” (On several occasions, he’d had trouble with shots inside a hundred yards, both during our round and on the practice range beforehand.) I reminded him that I had mainly written very flattering things about his golf game, and that I’d mentioned his victories in three club championships and had quoted praise from his caddie and his pro (“You have a very nice bicycle, Donald, even if it’s not as nice as your friend’s”). But none of that made any difference. He wanted the number, and the fact that I hadn’t published the number proved that I was just like all the other biased reporters, who, because we’re all part of the anti-Trump media conspiracy, never give him as much credit as he deserves for being awesome. Such is his now familiar habit of acting like a sore loser even when he’s won."

We were all warned that once the winning started there would be no letting up, and we might get tired of winning.

Here's a different pic from yesterday taken at a different time. Amazing, eh?

What is the view from the other angle?  How about from the Washington monument?

Seeing you started the thread, I'll leave that up to you. Maybe there were only 3 Patriots in that pic.

Where's Donald Trump? Seriously I can't find him. It's like Where's Wally. His hair can usually act as the equivalent of a big red and white striped outfit/hat.

I have to back off from this thread.  Patriots fans get very serious if they think you are making fun of their boys   I don't need to  be reported to the MOD Squad.

Is he even in that pic?

I don't think he is, but I'm not that good at the Where's Wally books so maybe I'm missing him.

Find it funny that there is a greater showing for the photo when Trump isn't there.

I don't think you're taking shots at the Patriots, not sure where you got that from. But even if you were I wouldn't care. I'm a big boy and don't let things like that bother me. I very rarely report anything, it has to be pretty bad for me to hit the report button. My stance on issues like these pics is they are silly and not worth anyone's time. To think they carry any political weight is ridiculous.
