I am so worried about my ROC. I will send it 2 months from now but I don't have enough evidences :(

We do not have the following:

-Car Insurance (1 car only and it's under her mom)

-Health Insurance ( we don't have this)

-mortgage (none)

-rent ( joint rentors name are under her, mom and brother only)

-no kids

-Joint Credit Cards (we decided to open my own credit card to build my credit)

-401k (none)

So basically it worries me cause we can't provide the "major evidences". We can only provide bank statements, pictures, travel documents and affidavit from family & friends.

did anyone experience the same thing?

Anne,

As far as the lease for rent is concerned:  Try to get a statement from the landlord authorizing you to live there.  I believe you might have an issue if you don't do this.  If the lease specifically says that only named people on the lease are allowed to live there, then your family is in breach of their rental conditions.  If the landlord has agreed that you can live there, then hopefully the landlord will be willing to write a statement saying that you are specifically allowed.

Collect mail that is addressed to both of you at your address, or, if you don't have that, then collect mail from both your partner and yourself that has the same address.

Are you and your spouse authorized drivers of the car?  Your name might then appear somewhere in the policy papers.

Do both you and your spouse have driver's licenses or state IDs with the same address?  Copy them both on the same sheet of paper.

When you submit your packet, explain the credit card thing by saying that you and your spouse had a discussion and decided to open a credit card in YOUR name to start establishing your own credit score.

Also mention that you are living in an extended family situation.  If your mother-in-law is willing to submit an affidavit, then get her to explain that she has embraced you as a daughter-in-law, as well as helping to support you and your partner by providing you with a place to live.

Do you have any kind of joint gym membership?  Local library cards?  Do you both work?  If so, do you have timesheets with your address on them (for both of you)?  Do your paychecks go into your joint bank accounts?  If so, then highlight that on the statements.

Remember that the officers are looking to see if you live together, and if you are truly sharing your lives together.  Your bank statements and travel documents will help with that.

Also - in choosing people to write affidavits, try to choose someone who has known you and your partner as a couple.  They might want to mention how you met, and also how the two of you have worked so hard to be together.

Best of luck to you.  My spouse and I should be hearing back from the VSC within the next month.

Hi Sukie!

I'm not sure if you are the same one i was talking to before in Same sex thread. :)

anyways, we're staying in a apartment with my mother in law and brother in law plus his child and wife. I'll try to ask if they can do something about it. If they can, would it be too late? Since i'm submitting in june.

I don't have a driver's license, I only have a state Id which shows the address. Can i include that? I still don't drive.

I have a gym membership but only under my name and just put her as contact person in case of emergency.

We both work in the same company.

Thank you so much for giving me more ideas. I'm just so worried right now.

i hope you'll get approved so soon!!
