So many times posters will post topics that are related to the country of their fiancée without stating the country directly, this isn't a problem if the timeline has been filled out because you can see the beneficiaries’ country under their member name to the left of their post.

Posters will also ask information about the different NOA's (times etc.) and this wouldn't be a problem if there was information about which service center that they filed thru and the date that the petition was filed, but so many times when I click on the OP's "timeline" there is nothing entered.

Would it be possible to redirect new posters to the timelines page when they click on "Post New Topic" within a forum or the "Reply" button within a post if they have not yet completed at least the Service Center and beneficiaries’ country in their timeline? Or perhaps make these 2 entries a requirement when setting up the account initially.

If you are reading this and thinking .. "I should do that." please click the link HERE and fill out your timeline.

Just a thought..

I think it is fine if someone does not have or want a signature, but yes, a timeline should be a requirement when setting up an account. Good suggestion, Countryboy.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

What about the folks who sign up here before they've officially started their visa process? There are several folks who fit into that category (I was one of them).

They could at least put the foreign beneficiary's country, though (and what is it with the ones who have 'USA' as the country?).

Good point, TracyTN. I never thought of that situation where someone has not officially filed . And yes, they can at least put the beneficiary's country. Dunno about the US flag. Truthfully, I haven't seen one ...yet.

Tracy,

I thought about that too,

The beneficiaries' country wouldn't be a problem.

As far as the Service Center goes, there could be a pop-up page with an alphabetical list of the states and their associated service center .. or maybe even an autofill option for the service center when the member fills in their home state. Either way would be an easy fix.

Like I said before, it is just a thought ..

That's true on the pop up list. It'd have to be something like that because I'm not sure everyone would know their service center right off, either. (I was here about a week before I bothered to download the I 129f again to read the instructions for that purpose.)

We ought to post this in the Site Discussions forum so that Ewok can see (or we can move this thread there if you'd rather).

Nagishkaw, what I meant about the USA is that I see some people who list the country of their fiance/spouse as USA (dunno why, when it clearly says 'non US fiance/spouse') on their profile.
