EX-BRITISH LAWMAKER: INTELLIGENCE SOURCES BELIEVE TAPE EXISTS OF TRUMP ASKING RUSSIA FOR ELECTION HELP

Intrepid Trump sleuth, Louise Mensch, a former Conservative member of British Parliament, claims that her sources within the intelligence community have evidence that Trump foreign policy adviser, Carter Page, traveled to Moscow in July 2016, with a taped statement by then candidate Trump, who in the tape, promises to promote favorable American-Russian policy.  In person,  Page is alleged to have made the desired quid pro quo explicit: As President, Trump would foster pro-Russian policies in exchange for Russia helping him win the 2016 election. Carter Page was in Russia during this time period.

What would the Russian help be?

Page allegedly asked for Russian help to come in the form of hacking and distributing disinformation.

Mensch’s sources in the intelligence community believe that a group of Trump advisers’ Carter Page, Paul Manafort, and Boris Epshteyn were never actually loyal to Trump, but were in fact, in Trump’s campaign only to the extent helpful to Russia’s national interests.

  1. Carter Page admitted to being in touch with Russian agents of the security services.
  2. Paul Manafort worked for Ukrainian dictator Victor Yanukovych, a toady of Vladimir Putin.
  3. Mensch claims, as per her intelligent community sources, that Boris Epshteyn is an actual FSB agent.

Why would Trump make a tape possibly exposing himself to possible charges of treason?

It is likely that the Russians wanted kompromat in order to keep Trump faithful to the agreement or maybe just to cause chaos in the U.S. at a time of their choosing.  While there has been talk of a sex tape due to the Trump dossier, the existence of a tape where an American president makes promises to a foreign regime hostile to the United States would likely be even more explosive.

While some of this may seem a bit far-fetched, others with ties to government have vouched for Mensch’s reporting.  Claude Taylor, for instance, served in three presidential campaigns and was a White House staffer during the Clinton presidency.

Somewhat opinion based, but thanks :) I'd be hesitant to take her word because the last thing she misrepresented was IMO cruel (events at the Bataclan).

Mensch has issues and I cannot vouch for her truthfulness in certain things. If it's true I'm sure multiple intelligence agencies and the FBI have this info. If it's not, there's still more than enough dirty laundry they have to sort through as it is.
