Only the USC's birth certificate is needed right now. If the USC is unsure about the front/back requirement, the USC can also include a photocopy of each page of the passport to show residency - as described in the I-129F instructions.

A lot of people's BC backs are just blank sheets of paper. I noticed mine was the same and worried a bit. So I included a post-it saying "There was no "back"" as well as copies of my passport - just in case.

Haha - yeah I made a copy of the back of mine even though it looked blank. I thought perhaps there was a watermark I just wasn't seeing. Sure enough - plain white sheet of paper. So we mailed in the plain white sheet of paper with a little note at the top "back of birth certificate." Looked ridiculous, but then again - so much of the stuff you send is quite personal. I'm sure they get a giggle or two out of some of those packets.

Although the instructions say the beneficiary's BC is not required, what harm would it be to include it as well as a copy of the passport? It may be wise to do so, if the OP has the translated copy on hand. Some have gotten an RFE because they did not submit it....John and Diana comes to mind.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Hehe, I did that too. actually the back of my birth certificate had tiny little paper fibers that sort of showed up when i photocopied it. I thought that might be part of some security thing, but I kinda doubt it... nevertheless I wrote "Back of birthcertificate" on a more or less white sheet of paper :D
