Hello vj members, now that I am here in the US; what is the first thing to do in order to adjust from my k1. I Will like to follow your steps.

You cannot submit the Adjustment forms (I485, I864, and G325A) until after you are legally married and have a certified copy of the marriage certificate.  So unless you are getting married on the first day you arrive since you are coming on a K1, and you get a copy of the marriage certificate immediately and can fill out the forms with your spouse, two days after arrival may be a stretch.  I would concentrate on getting married first, then file as soon as you can once you have the package ready.

I some cases you can. You can give it a try. Keep in mind that a SSN is NOT a work authorization.

 

it is strongly advised that you research the guides posted already and learn EVERYTHING from beginning to end. Doing this "on the fly" is not recommended. You could easily encounter problems that you were not prepared for.
