EAD service request and timeline - January Filer

Hey everyone!

 

I'm a January filers.

 

Sent my AOS-EAD-AP packet from K1 to USCIS on January 25th.

 

USCIS received it January 30th.

 

I had my biometrics on February 28th.

 

Today is my day 77.

 

I called USCIS this afternoon to make a service request. They said I should hear from them within 15 to 30 days.

 

Anyone has experience with service request ?

There's no point in putting in a service request this early now that they are backlogged and it takes over 100 days to get EAD and/or AP approved. You will probably just get a reply saying "You just need to wait, it's still being processed". If you get a reply at all, many don't. 

 

Check the November, December or January filers thread and you'll see tons of posts by people who put in service requests.

Got an update today! My case has been approved and new card is in production. Today is day 85th and 8 days after my service request.

Also, I did an expedite request on Friday 21st based on job offer. Probably helped a lot too.
