I-130 questions - when both abroad

Hi, I'm a USC who will marry and live abroad with my wife after we marry.

Several questions from the I-130:

1) Part 1 Relationship (you are the petitioner) - if the question does NOT apply (i.e. Part 1 Relationship #3 "if beneficiary is brother/sister". . .) since I'm apply for the spouse, do I just leave these types of questions blank?  or date marriage ended?  (and this is my first marriage - do I just say N/A)

2) Part 2 Information about you (Petitioner) - Information about your parents - what if one of my parents died?  Do I leave it blank?\

3) Names of All your spouses - Since this is our first marriage, do we just put N/V for "when date marriage ended" and for "spouse 2"? 

4) Additional Information about you (Petitioner) - I acquired my US citizenship through my parents (Certificate of Citizenship), can I skip the questions about lawful permanent resident 40-41?

5) if we are married and living together, do we simply put the same address for the beneficiary's address?

If you are the USC and you will be living abroad with your spouse, why are you filing an I-130?

Hello,

 

First things first...you noted you are filing for your spouse but plan to live abroad. Why? A green card is for living (permanent residence) within the US.

Maybe he will just live abroad until his wife gets her green card. I would hate to be going through the process living separately like some of the members here.

 

Maybe use the older I-130 with two G-325A's if you can get hold of them, still a valid option if filed before 30 June.

If the questions do not apply (such as the brother/sister ones) just leave them unanswered. 

 

If your parents are dead, you still need to provide their names and birth dates, etc but where it asks "city of residence" write "deceased". 

 

Skip the questions about permanent residents if you're a USC.

Let me know if you have more questions, it looks like you have the answers so far?  Myself and my husband filed while living abroad.  We just got through both USCIS and NVC stages with no checklists for missing items, so happy to help.

I would not recommend keeping any questions blank, I will suggest you put down N/A.  My friend left a few questions blank and USCIS sent her a RFE because her application was considered '" Incomplete" .
