Hey man, if you go outside and your hair gets wet it could actually be really hot and humid, and your hair is wet from sweat.

Or you could walk through a sprinkler...

lol. Ockham's razor dude.

Although that reminds me in the winter here it's kind of funny, oftentimes I will go outside with my hair wet when it's below freezing and within a few seconds it will freeze so it just kind of feels like I used gel or something, or like a group of straws.

In some places in the world the law of parsimony would point to an artificial source of water. If you went outside in a desert that has very few days in the year where it rains, perhaps.

Well if it has been raining all week I'd expect you to have an umbrella. So if your hair is wet I would wonder why it is wet under an umbrella. ;)

I love overcomplicating things :)

Hey I happen to enjoy overcomplicated philosophical discussions. There are two options why my hair would be wet: one - there's a hole in the umbrella somewhere, but the more realistic option is I'm not using one. And to be honest with you I actually can't remember the last time I used an umbrella. I never understood why people are scared of a little bit of water. Makes me laugh when people start running.

Well without knowing you personally i wouldn't know if using an umbrella or not using one would be the more likely scenario when the rain has been consistent and not unpredictable.

I also don't remember how it was originally written, but the other option would be that your hair was already wet before you wet outside. But that just depends on how it was written.

Well that does happen, as per my example in the winter when my hair freezes. But I think here we were talking about the hair getting wet while you're outside. And yes it could be from a sprinkler, or from humidity(which would explain why the grass turns green super fast after winter is over the closer to the lake you are). But the highest probability is still rain. And with rain I cannot think of a third option. I mean yeah it can go sideways a bit and make parts of you wet but it wouldn't make the top of your head wet. Unless, you're using an umbrella but hold it kind of retarded so it's not covering all of your head - now that could be an option as well.

Real men don't use umbrellas.  It will get you a potential Article 15 in the army

As yes, improper handling of the umbrella is another option.

Really the possibilities are endless :)

My assumption here with my Twain like folksy analogy,  was most folks would be able to  ascertain if it is raining  without a doctoral thesis seminar.

So much for that theory.

And to that I'd say your hair being wet (or dry) is not how i would determine if it is raining.
