Hello everyone!

So finally I hit the point where my case is being sent to the NVC. My fiance will be calling the next weeks to get the number that they have to give us but here's my question now..

1. Once they give us that number, what do I do with it?

2. How would I apply for an interview with the embassy? Will they send me the Package 3 once I set a date?

3. Do I select the interview date online?

Thanks and sorry but I'm pretty confused at that point! :)

hello

when NVC recive your case from USCIS, they forward it to your selected US Embassy and you will get a letter from NVC cotaining your case number and the date that your case leaved NVC.

nce you have get your case number you can complete DS-160 online and submit it. remember you application number in the signed and confirmed DS-160.

after that you can track your case at Visa Status Check and Track it online.

now go to CSRA and register an account.select your Embassy, follow the instruction.

your case number tacking can be 3 status:

1- at NVC: this means your case is still in NVC and not sent yet.

2- In Transit: means your case in transit to the US Embassy

3-Ready: means your documents arrived in Embassy and ready for interview

You have to wait until your status become Ready, and after that Embassy will mail you the instruction.

before your status become ready you can pay your interview fee online, but remember to not schedule appointment date until the Embassy cantact you via E-mail.

I hope it helped and sorry for my bad english.

You will wait for the embassy to send your fiance' a call in letter. Once that is received, she should send you a copy; either by mail or email. Email is faster and you can just print it out. You must have this letter in order to be allowed in the embassy to pick up your packet. (Packet 3). You can only visit the Embassy on Wednesdays for the packet. Arrive early around 6am-7am. Cuz they will take letter and instruct you to come back around 2pm for the packet. You don't have to pay any online fees, the visa fee is paid at the time of the interview. Within the packet you will receive instructions about getting your medical and police report. Your scheduled interview date is also included in the packet. But please follow instructions and do just as the instructions say in the packet. Hope this will help you..

Processes vary by embassy.  Here's a link to the process for the embassy in Madrid.
