I guess I am just lost on what to do next.  I have filed the ds-160 form online and I am not sure if I will be receiving a confirmation email saying the application was approved or how long I will need to wait.  Also, when do I need to pay the K1 visa fee?  I don't know if i need to pay it now or wait until his visa is approved.   Also, the I-864 form doesn't need to be mailed in, does it?  I have read many things and every thing i read tells me something different.  I am just lost and I hate not doing anything to prepare for this visa.

first after your petition is approved go to NVC, after the petition is approved give them 2 weeks and start to call to NVC and try to get your cse number, it is a number that start with SDO, once you get your case number from NVC, go to CEAC CHECK VISA STATUS to see what is the status of your case.

on https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx your appliction will say at NVC while is a NVC, then change to IN TRANSIT while they send it to the dominican consulate, then the sttus go to READY when the case be at Santo Domingo, one says ready you can fill out the ds-160, print the confirmation page.

then go to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/do/index.html?firstTime=No and create aprifil there with the information of your fiance, pay the visa fee, if you pay at banco popular then you need wait 24 hours to be aviable to schedule his/her fingerprint appoinment at Galeria 360 and the consular appoinment, if you pay with credit card inmedialtely you can schedule both appoinment.

note: you need 2 appoinment here in dominican republic, one for fingersprints and other for the consular appoinment.

the petitioner need be present at the interview, for k1 visa is needed i-134 for affidavit
