It is a very difficult embassy to go through. As someone who went through that embassy, my advise will be, to be honest, have lots of evidence ( try not to use too much of Facebook evidence), visit your fiancee in Ghana to get those visa stamps as evidence and most of all be really patience. Its a slow embassy and they have alot of scrutiny due to Ghana being a high visa fraud country. Good luck!

The Ghana embassy is a very difficult one, especially with K1 visas. Unfortunately this is because a lot of fraud that occurred in the past and continues to happen.

That said cases still get approved for those who are well prepared. A couple things I would recommend:

- As already suggested, read through the reviews on this site. They will give you some insight into how the embassy can be. The tend to ask a few basic questions and a lot of couple-specific questions.

- Did you frontload...meaning submit evidence with your petition? If not make sure to bring good quality evidence to the interview. The best evidence is time together. How many trips have you made?

- Practice questions with your fiance. They needs to be prepared to answer any and everything the CO will ask. They need to know what evidence you submitted and know a lot about you. During my husband's K1 and CR1 interviews, the questions came directly from the evidence.

It's good you're preparing ahead of time. Good luck.

If you haven't already, you may want to send your fiance a copy of everything from the packet you already sent in so he is aware of what was sent and you can review it together.  As others have said, it seems that the amount of face time is imperative to your embassy.  Lots of patience is also needed.  It can be a long ride.  Best wishes on a smooth journey!

I made 2 trips there and spent 2 weeks the first time and 2 weeks the second time i actually just got back last week. I did submit evidence with the petition the first time Pictures airplane tickets chat logs with his family sisters dad mom and chat logs from him from my mom dad brothers sisters and cousins and I also submitted a letter of recommendation from my pastor who will perform the ceremony. I hope its enough.

That's great evidence. Since family is so important to the Ghanaian culture, the CO will love seeing that you two are interacting with each other's families. I did the same thing for our spouse visa.

When your fiancé goes to the interview, pick up with the chats between you two and submit that. You can also include any wedding planning you have done, such as communication between a vendor, receipt for a dress, etc. Word of advice...don't pay for any wedding things that can't be refunded like a venue or photographer until the visa is approved. The visa process could take longer than you think and want.

Do you plan to go to Ghana when your fiancé has his interview? If so, make sure the CO knows you're there. I went and included a letter, pictures from the three days prior and copies of the boarding passes, visa stamps and hotel receipts.
