Qualifications for Sponsorship?

I am a Canadian citizen and my fiancee is a US citizen.

My fiancee is currently living with me in Canada and going to school here.

In a few days we are going to elope, and a few days after she will move home to the States where she will begin the K-3 process.

Canada does not allow foreign students to work here, so her bank account is being drained by living here. Needless to say, she will not be able to sponsor me by herself. Once she moves home she will be living with her grandmother and aunt, whose income would make it possible for her to sponsor me. (I assume her grandma and aunt would be considered "relatives by birth"?) Her grandmother is retired, and I was wondering if her income would be considered for sponsorship? Or does she have to be physically employed?

Another question I have is regarding assets. If my fiancee has enough assets to exceed the poverty line for three years, would she be eligible to sponsor me on her own?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
