In my former topic lasst week, I wrote that I was wondering what happened to my case, because the website said they sent us an RFE, but we never received it.

I did make an infopasss appointment and the lady said, some should have taken our mail, because they did sent it and didn't receive anything back, so well, what was the problem,we should check our mail more often ( how more often than once a day, does she want) she would try to sent us a new one, but it may take up to another 30 days, meaning we only have 2 weeks left to get that needed info. :clock:

Last friday, I did receive mail from a unknown girl in washington state. THEY SENT MY RFE TO HER IN THE WRONG ENVELOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!:rolleyes:

She discovered it and was so nice to sent it to me.

Can you believe that they sent my private info to someone else in the USA!!

This girl was very kind, but it could have been totally been misused and used for identity theft.

If she and we wouldn't have discovered he mistake my case could have been denied by a mistake of the USCIS.

I am very upset, since the lady at the infopass was very ignorant and claimed that they did sent it.

So watch everything very closely, because my NOA and RFE were sent 2 days apart and that confused me, thinking I had everything and the info they wnated were my biometrics. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? :girlwerewolf2xn:

That is really rediculous. . . I would be making another infopass appt with the letter in hand and the explanation from the kind girl that sent it to you, saying that this was mistakingly sent to her, with the postmarked letter. There is no excuse for their mistake, they have your address on file so they not?! You are right. . . what if it had gotten into the wrong hands. Very Scary. You are very lucky. THanks for the post.

Well what she MEANT to say is you should be checking the unknown girl in Washington's mail..

(I think that sucks and it was VERY nice of that 'unknown' girl to do that...now, who has her NOA/RFE? anyone?)

p.s.

Save the envelope (and letter if she wrote one) she sent it to you in.. might want to copy it and send it back with whatever your RFE was asking for...

That is excellent advice!

Scary that can happen with your personal information, isn't it? What kind of personal info is on that notice? Someone could do a lot of damage with that information if you were so inclined (though surely this lady is not that way).

That's really rediculous, but lucky you, a very good honest lady got it for you. You better make a copy and report that mistake to their supervisor or whoever the superior in that USCIS department of that stupid and rude woman, they're not doing their job properly.

You need to absolutely let USCIS know the mistake THEY made!!! I can't believe they were so careless with your personal information. You're at a greater risk for identity theft since someone you don't know, has seen your private info. I would go down to that office and show your letter to a superior, so it can be documented and noted. I still wouldn't trust anyone, no matter how nice they were in sending your letter to the correct address. This is indeed shows how you can't totally rely on USCIS to do their job efficiently. Good luck.

I agree with what other people have said - make sure this mistake of theirs is drawn to their attention! Make copies of the incorrect address on the envelope, the letter the girl sent to you, and an explanation of how unhelpful infopass was etc. when you return your RFE. If you have time, make another appointment with infopass and try to speak to the same woman and show her what happened, and perhaps get your state government involved. Explain to the senator or representative how sensitive the information was that they sent to a completely different state and how it has caused unnecessary delay in your case due to their error. Perhaps they can help expedite your case because of this.

This is a very important tip. Thanks foxtobee. We also had a problem with mailed documents. To compound things, when my husband (then fiance) called to ask about the delay, they told him that they had sent the documents to me so I must be lying to him about wanting to get married but was too scared to admit it. :o Unbelievable.
