If that is the case then, he doesn't have a very good memory. As I said, I think it is quite reasonable to be able to at least narrow when you met someone down to a year, especially for people you have met in the last 10 years. That isn't superhuman memory, that is just normal I think.

trump should be able to remember when he met his senior counsel and chief strategist.

No, I'd say he's just like everyone else. Recalling specific info is only something people tend to be good at if they either have an exceptional memory (photographic memory) or the events were memorable. For a wealthy guy like that, he meets tons of people on a daily basis. I wouldn't even remember the names of anyone, hence why I carry my iPad around with me everywhere. I understand that the President is expected to have higher than usual decorum and remember things that most people would be expected to, but bottom line is, this can't be viewed as anything besides a partisan attack unless there's a specific reason why he would need to remember this.

trump himself said he'd known him for years, trump was on bannon's radio show nine times prior to the campaign, bannon was imperative to trump's campaign and trump plopped him in his administration - pretty close too. 

bannon isn't a mere acquaintance in a sea of faces.

If you ask me when I've met anyone I known for <10 years, I can tell you within 1 year of when I met them. As I said maybe a month would be hard, but year is quite reasonable.

Well then, either photographic memory, or you don't know many people. Simple. Or you're lying. I think anyone that compares their life to someone like his in terms of remembering people and dates are clearly doing their best to BS themselves.

Of course I can't say with absolute certainty, but I'm trying to make an honest guess. In 10 years I've met people in from University, Medical School, Residency, met people through my wife, met people on holidays.

 

The way I think would be to break people up into groups. Those groups would help me focus in on when I met them. I'm quite confident that even very vague "acquaintances" I can target down to a year.

 

Now if you are talking about people I consider "close personal advisors", like Bannon is to Trump, then I would say with FAR more certainty that I could narrow it down to a year.

 

We aren't saying that Trump can't remember when he met a bellboy. We are saying Trump can't remember someone who was/is one of his "senior advisors". Bannon isn't just an acquaintance.

You don't need a photographic memory to remember when you met someone a significant amount of times. But you do need a 'selective memory' in order to lie about it after the fact. Being wealthy isn't a disease which causes you to forget a face... if that were the case the poor and middle class must be absolute geniuses with perfect memories.
