Alabama Senate Says Church Can Start Its Own Police Force

It's a common thing here for people to throw out a wild claim without no actual evidence. Then when asked for evidence, they state it's "not my problem, and not my job to provide evidence".

 

It actually is ALWAYS the responsibility of the person making the claim to provide evidence. If you cannot, then your claim is thrown out.

 

Unicorns exist. Don't ask me for proof, because it's not my problem. You can go out and prove they exist. It's obvious they exist.

I think it would be reasonable for the church to want the equivalent of campus police, but I don't see why they need to go the extra step to having officers that have the "same powers other law enforcement officers have in Alabama." I'm also not really sure what those additional powers are, which might help my understanding.

Campus police have the same powers as other police , they just cant operate off campus. The church would have the equivalent of campus police. example. Our Medical center here has medica center police, as does our local school system. Its really no different and not that big of a deal . even our little state college here has campus police. They have police mandate training.

Thats the way we roll  here, and sadly "the throwing someones claim out" is about a thing as much as a unicorn

Do they really have all the powers?

 

I don't think campus police can actually make arrests. They detain until actual police arrive.

 

As I've already said if all the Church wants is the equivalent of campus police, I'm cool with that. Just not sure why there needed to be a bill passed to let that happen. The way it was written made it seem like they wanted something "more", and I've been asking what more would they want and why.

 

The articles seem to suggest they want a group with equivalent powers to police officers. I don't believe campus police meet that requirement.

Police officers moonlighting as security is very common. Its how they earn extra income . They get to wear the uniform

A claim with no evidence should be ignored. It provides nothing.

 

It should be rewritten as a question if someone can't provide evidence that it is true.

Not quite. 

 

He has provided what he has claimed as evidence in the form of a photograph. As that photograph goes against conventional knowledge, i would require follow-up evidence to prove that the photograph wasn't edited or manipulated.

 

Though i was the one who initially claimed unicorns exist, so actually i thank him for helping me provide some evidence, weak as it may be

what? that's a jpg from the internets. from a very well respected site called google. it's quite possibly the best evidence of unicorns you'll ever witness. i would find you more pictures of real unicorns but i'm too lazy and don't care.
