Current i-864 time frames?

Has anybody recently filed the i-864?

I sent everything off March 15th.

 

I have my medical booked next week and all prior paper work has been completed. 

 

My wife is moving back on 20th April with our son and she is having kittens as she is pregnant with no.2, yet we were expecting to spend some time apart.

 

 

I did read a timeframe was around 11 weeks and any RFE resets the 11 week mark. That being said that was not for DCF cases, unlike this so my understanding is they are processed slightly differently.

Can you explain what your question is. Do you need help with the I-864 Affidavit of support? It doesn't have a timeframe. It goes to your DCF interview.

 

Can you say the relevant paperwork you have filed in case you missed something?

Is your consulate Armenia as your timeline says or is it London?

 

Do you know you book your own interview if your consulate is London?

Thanks for the response! I have no idea why it does not say London, but that is my consulate. 

 

I-864 forms were all sent with all relative paperwork needed. I have also completed the DS-260 form online.

It states that the NVC will not review my DS-260 until they have received the required financial and civil documents needed (which were all sent in Affidavit of support packet I sent?) 

 

My understanding is that I am waiting on them before I can schedule and interview. Or have I completley dropped the ball here??!?

Are you filing DCF (directly with the embassy) or via the USA?  NVC is not involved in a DCF case, hence the confusion on your question.

I second this and wanted to say the same thing. I wasn't sure how things in London are, but we also go the typical canned response with info about the NVC but that step is skipped for anyone filing DCF.

 

So if you're doing DCF: Did you get your case number yet? Once you have it, you can schedule your interview.

I have filed DCF all my paper work from i-130, i-864 and all supporting forms have been sent to the U.S Embassy. Confusion here is when I completed my DS-260 form online it states the NVC has to review the case.. or as @millefleur has said I guess its a default response, so thanks for clearing that up! Yeh I have my case number. 

 

Shall I go ahead with the visa appointment service then?

@Adam_Nando Yes, you can go ahead and make your appointment.

 

Take all your docs, including the I-864, to the interview. They'll ask for it and process it before calling you in for the interview.

 

I know, it's confusing to all of us doing DCF that the leave in that info about the NVC. Thankfully we can clear it up here on VJ.

Oh, actually that might be slightly different for your Embassy. We didn't have to submit ours before hand.

 

Some wrote a really great guide for London DCF. I'd read this and see what they say about it:

The London DCF info referenced may be somewhat out of date. Read your instructions from the London embassy web page. Start reading at third paragraph https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/how-to-apply-2/. Do not read anything that says NVC processing. You skip NVC.

 

Also do another I-864 for the interview because yours could have gotten lost. You do not send anything in to the embassy. It all goes to the interview.

 

I'm surprised you didn't get a letter saying your approved petition was received by the Immigrant Visa unit and a link to the website.

@Wuozopo I will email them ASAP. After receiving the acceptance for the i-130 form I filled in the DS-260 form received my case number, and just followed the next step instructions (i-864 etc) and basically wait for further instructions. 

 

Mentions nothing other than the NVC. I never received any instructions about what to do next other than after I completed the DS-260 form. 

 

Will update when I get response from embassy.

Are you reading the DCF instructions link on London website that I posted? Those are your real and most up to date instructions. None of the steps say send I-864 to the embassy.

Example:

Step 2 – Assemble all of the documents that you will be required to bring with you to your visa interview, including the Affidavit of Support from your relative. Download our document checklist here, as a PDF file (PDF- 425kb).  Do not send any documents to the Immigrant Visa Unit.

Ok that's now cleared everything up. Unfortunately I did post my affidavit of support forms and everything else to the embassy ( BIG BOO BOO)

What would be the best next point of course? Do you think their would be any chance of retrieving this?

So a big thank you to everyone for your help. I have now booked an interview (5 days after my medical) Just going to compile all the i-864 forms and supporting documents... AGAIN! Although at least I have an interview scheduled! This whole process has been extremely laborious and difficult, saying that you guys have helped out immensely! I will be checking in again soon.
