Hi, I am trying to plan how much time I will stay in Peru when I go there for the interview. My fiance lives in Piura, which is in northern Peru. I was just wondering, after the interview, and if we are approved, can we stay in Lima and pick up the visa, or does it automatically get mailed to his home address? We were hoping to fly back together, but if the visa doesn't get mailed back to his house right away, we may have to re-schedule our plane tickets. Is it best that I stay in Peru for at least 1 week after the interview? Please let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Sara

DO YOU HAVE THE INTERVIEW DATE ALREADY?

No, not yet. I just got a letter today from the NVC saying that he should have Packet 3/4 in about a week.

hi first good luck in your enterview :) trust all will be good ...

well about the passport with the visa when you pay the 5 dollars in dhl they will ask where city do you want to pick up the passport ..so better choose lima if you plan to travel inmediatly ... some people went to pick up passport two days after enterview and that was ready ...so its good idea you plan your trip for a week after your enterview to be sure ...take care

well best of luck to you on the interview

along with your soon to be hubby

yes

as a reply already said

i think the consulate in lima needs to send it to you DHL

so just pick a hotel address or a family address

and i got my visa was sent to the consulate in lima first

then i think they review and send the papers that need to be filed

so i am not sure how long it will all take

packet 3/4 has still not arrived to my fiance in lima

and i think i got an NOA2 on March 21 saying within a week Lima will have it

and my fiance has still got nothing

does anyone know if this is normal?

Raspect,

It does not appear to be normal to me. Our NAO2 was 28 FEB and the NVC received it on 9 March. The Peru Consulate received it from the NVC on 3-14, but almost a week and a half later did the consulate acknowledge having it in their hands. The last week of March I called and was given the Interview date (4-26) prior to my Fiancee receiving Packet 3 & 4. On the 30th of March it was delivered.

I would follow up with both the NVC and the Consulate to track you application. Remember if you call the Consulate it should be between the hours of 2pm to 3pm. Their number is 011511 434-3000. Hope this helps you and best wishes on your K1 interview and Visa!!!

It's much better to wait for at least one week...cause the VISA always take at least 4 or 5 days to arrive home...Also don't forget to have ALL the papers for the interview, cause if you are missing one of them will delay the VISA..it happened to me...they asked me for the POLICE CERTIFICATE, when it wasn't indicated on the original documents that they asked for...It took me about 7 days to got that paper, then sent it to the embassy and then..finally after three weeks my VISA arrive...

Good luck for you guys...and while you wait for the VISA .. enjoy a delicious ceviche at Mancora Beach with a cold Cuzquena...
